Fall Fest 2021 - Saturday, October 2nd
|
Rain or shine the Fall Festival will be ON this Saturday, October 2nd, from 3 to 10 pm! There are additional tents for coverage where you can enjoy a variety of foods, drinks, and games throughout the day and end the night with tunes from the Ryan Ross Band.

Homecoming Spirit Items
It’s almost time for HOMECOMING!
While the actual football game is October 7th, the Cheerleaders are ready to kick off their biggest fundraiser of the year!
Pre-order your SPIRIT ITEMS using this form and make sure it is submitted by Friday, October 1st (we are not able to accommodate ANY late orders).
Items will be packaged and delivered to your oldest/only child’s homeroom on Monday, October 4th. We will NOT be selling items directly to the kids in homerooms or at lunchtime this year.

We have a few favorite returning items like vinyl stickers (perfect for water bottles, camp trunks, or laptop covers) and Styrofoam cups (new design) perfect for ANY beverage! We also have fan favorites like hair bows, pom poms, mini footballs, eye black, bam bams, rally towels, hand clappers, and temporary tattoos!

Homecoming Dress Up Days
Students are encouraged to wear spirit shirts and jeans Monday through Thursday (Friday is Mass attire) and participate in the following fun dress days:
- Monday - PJ Day (must wear athletic shoes with PJ's)
- Tuesday - Crazy Socks Day
- Wednesday - Spirit Day
- Thursday - Red Out - wear all the red you can (shorts are also allowed)
Spirit shirts and jeans and/or uniform bottoms are allowed Monday - Thursday. School uniform is also acceptable any of these days.
Homecoming Games
Come on out and cheer on your St. Cecilia teams next week! Monday and Tuesday there are home Volleyball games, and on Tuesday home Soccer games as well. Thursday is the Homecoming Football Game. We will have special food each day, and lots of spirited fun and Booster Club items available as well. Check all the game times in the Calendar At-A-Glance section at the top of the email. Let’s come out and support all the home games next week!

Literacy Coach, Math Coach, and STEM / Makerspace Positions Available
|
St. Cecilia Catholic School is currently looking for qualified candidates for three positions.
Literacy Coach
The Literacy Coach will support all PreK-8th grade staff in implementing the site reading plan and program. The Coach will work directly with teachers in the school, providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaborative and one-on-one support, and facilitating teacher inquiry and related professional development. The Coach will focus on enhancing teachers’ ability to provide instruction that builds students’ sense of engagement in the ownership of learning. The Coach will also work with administrators and teachers to collect and analyze data, interpret, and use it to guide instructional decisions.
Math Coach
The Math Coach will model, coach, observe and assist personnel at the school to use research-based Math strategies with the Math curriculum standards effectively for instruction and assessment. He/she will facilitate learning activities in the classroom using Math strategies from each professional development training session.
STEM / Makerspace Teacher
The duties and responsibilities of the STEM / Makerspace teacher involve instruction directly related to STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and/or Math) and computer science in our Genesis Innovation lab and our Makerspace. Related duties shall be those inspired by the ISTE Standards for Coaches and those assigned by the Principal.

HSA Volunteering – Fall Fest Wheel of Fortune Gift Cards
The Home and School Association will carry on with the tradition of sponsoring the Wheel of Fortune Booth at Fall Fest on Saturday, October 2nd. Over the past few years, the Wheel of Fortune Booth has been one of the most popular booths! The game is simple. Players spin the “wheel of fortune” for chances to win prizes! Each school family is asked to make a donation online between $5 and $20 to help purchase a family-friendly gift card for the Wheel of Fortune booth for chances to win a gift card and other fun prizes.

If you haven’t already signed up to volunteer to help out at Fall Fest – HSA is recruiting volunteers to work the Wheel of Fortune booth on Saturday, October 2nd. You can sign up online here to volunteer for a shift.

St. Thomas High School Mini Eagles Cheer Clinic

Come cheer with the St. Thomas Cheerleaders! Participate in the 2 hour cheer camp and then perform with the St. Thomas Cheerleaders during halftime at the 2021 Concordia Lutheran Game! Click here for more information.

Youth and Children’s Choirs Are Back!
|
After a nearly 18-month hiatus, Youth and Children’s Choirs are finally returning to St. Cecilia Catholic Church and School! We are so pleased to announce that the new Director for the Choir is Ms. Courtney Laird, who also is the music teacher for St. Cecilia Catholic School. She is very excited to help rebuild our Choir program. Following a few weeks of rehearsals, the Choir will begin singing at Sunday Mass on November 7th and at the Friday School Mass on November 12th.
Youth Choir rehearsals will be on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Music Room, beginning October 13th.
Children's Choir rehearsals (for grades 2nd and 3rd) will begin closer to Christmas.
