Join Today's Silent Sentinels
Wednesday, August 26, 12 pm, Ocean Blvd., Long Beach
Come celebrate National Women’s Equality Day & the 19th Amendment! The Silent Sentinels of The Long Beach Suffrage 100 invite you to stand on Ocean Blvd. anywhere from Chestnut to Cherry in silence for one hour. August 26 is the 100th anniversary of the signing of the 19th Amendment.
We will honor the original Silent Sentinels by standing together in silence to demonstrate the importance of the 2020 VOTE and our support of the John Lewis Voting Advancement Act, H.R. 4.
Wear a mask, stand 6 feet apart in silence, and bring a sign -- make you own, e.g., "Equal Pay for Equal Work," "Get Out The Vote," or "Vote by November 3rd."

"BREAKING THE GLASS CEILING" pins and pendants are still available. Don't miss out on this limited edition! Order one of these stunning pieces for yourself or give one as gift to a friend or loved one and let them know that the sky's the limit!

These pins and pendants were designed exclusively for us by local Long Beach glass fusion artist Vivian Shimoyama.  She created “Breaking the Glass Ceiling,” a brooch for Secretary of State Madeleine Albright’s beautiful pin collection. This gorgeous pin is featured in Secretary Albright’s book Read My Pins, which was featured on a national and international tour. The pin and book were displayed in over 22 museums and presidential libraries. Vivian's pins have graced the lapels of prominent women in politics, corporations and governments.

Pendants and pins with gold accent are $50; without gold, $36. Your purchase will support the work of NCJW Greater Long Beach and West Orange County.

Each piece you purchase will be gift boxed and include information about the artist and her work. For more information on how to obtain your limited-edition pin or pendant, contact Deborah Lewis @ 562-598-0118 or info@ncjwlongbeach.org. Purchases can also be online at www.ncjwlongbeach.org/jewelry
