JUNE 2020
The times may be unprecedented but Valley Humane Society's compassion for the animals and people of our community is well established. We've had to change a thing or two about how we operate, but the work to save lives and to connect people and pets in ways that enrich all continues unabated.

Currently our adoption center remains closed to walk-in visitors, though we are working hard behind the scenes to maintain services and perform safe adoptions by appointment. As always, we strive to exemplify the kindness, compassion and optimism that live at the heart of our mission, and now we do so with renewed purpose.

We hope you are well. We hope being at home with your pets and your family brings you a measure of joy. We hope you will reach out if you need us. Because while our doors may be closed, our eyes and ears and hearts remain wide open.
Computer Critters
It's June, and that can only mean one thing: Critter Camp has begun! This year the popular day camp is coming straight to a living room near you...virtually, that is! Otherwise it's the same fun mix of crafts, activities, humane lessons and sneak peeks at our amazing animal friends. Each week-long camp includes two daily computer sessions, and a take-home camp kit with t-shirt and all supplies needed. View the technical requirements and sign up your camper today!
Keep Feline Families Together
Kitten season is here again and it's already shaping up to be a busy one! With over 30 kittens currently in foster homes, now is a great time to brush up on what to do should you encounter any outside. Leaving kittens where you found them while they await the return of their mother is typically the best thing for them, until they are old enough to be weaned and made ready for adoption. Check out our Kitnap video for more information. To view cats and kittens currently available for adoption, visit our website and send us an email at [email protected] for an application.
Emergency Pet Preparedness
Planning ahead to meet your pet's needs in the face of an emergency is always a good idea. Valley Humane Society is here to offer resources to help pet guardians make plans that include their pets. Download and fill out an Emergency Pet Profile to give caregivers an idea of your pet's health and preferences so they can continue to receive the best care possible in the event you are unable to do so.

Sip, Sip, Hooray!
Dog Day Cabernet is now available for purchase on Darcie Kent's website, so you can have it shipped straight to your door while sheltering in place. If that isn't reason enough to celebrate, $5 from the sale of each bottle benefits our lifesaving and life-enriching work. Order a bottle today!
Amazon Smile
Ordering supplies? Use Amazon Smile for an easy way help animals! Simply select Valley Humane Society as your charity beneficiary, and Amazon donates a portion of the sale to our lifesaving programs and services. It's now available on Amazon's mobile app, too, so you can help on the go!
Home Brew Trivia
If you've been missing 3rd Tuesday Trivia not to worry! Your hosts Jeff and Nancy have taken it virtual! Tune in tonight, Tuesday, June 16, on the Home Brew Trivia Facebook page for Live Q&A at 7 pm. To give it that old school flavor, order up some takeout from McKay's Taphouse!
