Upcoming Long Weekend Oct. 9-12
Students and families, next weekend will be a four-day long weekend. No classes will meet on Monday, October 11 for a school holiday or on Tuesday, October 12 for a faculty/staff PD day.
AP Testing Payment - Oct. 15
All students in AP classes are automatically enrolled to take the exam. If you choose to not take the exam, do not pay for it and an exam will not be ordered for you. Payment for AP Tests costs $95 per exam.

Pink October - Athletes Support Breast Cancer Awareness
This month, Carondelet Athletics is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness. We will be holding various fundraisers to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and having "pink games" where athletes will wear pink in support of the cause. Watch Schoology and social media for more information!

The last chance for Picture Make-ups will be this Wednesday, October 6
  • Frosh and seniors: Come to the SAC at lunch (11:20 AM-12 PM)
  • Soph and juniors: Come to the SAC at Community time (12-1:05 PM)

Everyday Uniform Review
Please review the approved apparel below. The full policy is listed online. For questions on uniform policy, contact Assistant Dean, Alexis Bustamante.

Tops
  • Any Carondelet or De La Salle polo, shirt, or sweater.
  • Seniors may wear college/university shirts and sweatshirts. 
Bottoms
  • Mills Skirt options: navy, gray, plaid. Skirts must be worn with biker shorts, leggings, or tights underneath.
  • Pant options: black, blue, or khaki pants. No rips or tears. Pants can be denim, chino, or dress pant material. 
  • Shoes must have a backstrap.
Not Allowed
  • Khaki skirts, leggings, sweats, and pajama pants are not permitted for any student. 
Stem Trip to Switzerland
Registration is open for our STEM Trip on May 31 with only a few spots remaining. We will travel to Lucerne, Freiburg, Munich, and Salzburg. Take in the views atop Mt. Pilatus in the Swiss Alps, tour the BMW Plant, journey below ground in a salt mine, and so much more! Reach out to Mrs. Schooler with any questions and visit the Trip Site for more information.

Olympian on Campus
The most celebrated female water polo player in history, Maggie Steffens was on campus this week. The three-time Olympic gold medalist and USA captain spoke as part of the Innovators@Carondelet Speaker Series in the Jean Hofmann Center for Innovation. She told her inspiring story about how to achieve your dreams by always failing forward and creating a strong support team.
Homecoming Week Fun
What a great Homecoming week! From dress-up days and lunchtime activities to our Homecoming rally, game, and dance, we're so thrilled to see some of our favorite traditions come back—just another reminder of how joyful Carondelet can be when we have all of us together.
Speech and Debate
Congratulations to the Speech and Debate team for their success at the Golden Gate Speech Association (GGSA) Parli and Congress #1 Tournament. Sofia Andrawess '23 and Ava Conte '23 both received a Winning-Record Award.
Hispanic Heritage Month
It's Hispanic Heritage Month, and Arianna Fabian '22 is reflecting on her Mexican heritage and the ways it has influenced her passions and life.

Water polo standout Aubrey Newton '22 of Carondelet is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week after helping the Cougars win all three of their matches during the week. The senior, three-sport athlete had six goals and three assists—taking only nine shots to get those six goals.

All Grade Levels: CHS and DLS will be virtually hosting a Financial Aid Night on Thursday, October 7 at 7 PM. It will cover different types of financial aid, the financial aid application process, how financial aid is awarded, and answer frequently asked questions about the financial aid process. A Zoom link will be emailed to families and posted on Schoology the day of the event.

On October 13, frosh will participate in Frosh Day of Service, a day when the whole class engages in the Carondelet tradition of serving our dear neighbor. This is a mandatory event. Details will be shared in the coming weeks.

Ven a Ver Borderlands
Dates: Feb 28th-March 5th
Ven a Ver Borderlands (formerly Ven a Ver San Diego) is an immersion on the U.S-Mexico border. We will travel to Tucson, AZ, and participate in a delegation with Borderlinks, an organization devoted to educating communities on immigration.

Applications will be available in November. Juniors and seniors may apply.
