Celebrate by riding your bike to work or school, or better yet, take a ride on the trails!

Future Trails of Northern Delaware Needs Your Ideas!

The Coalition wants to plan great trails that connect our communities.  We can't do that without your comments and suggestions.

Who doesn't like a  chance to support Delaware Greenways?

Join us at BBC Tavern and Grill on Tuesday, June 13th when Delaware Greenways hosts a send-off for Jack Markell as he begins a cross-country bicycle ride.  We're combining the send-off with a Guest Bartending Event from 5:30 - 9:00 pm.

William Penn HS Farm to School Program is named a  Superstar in Education

Congratulations to the William Penn High School Farm to School Program for their recognition as a Superstar in Education! WPHS Agriculture students farm acreage at Historic Penn Farm, managed by Delaware Greenways.  The big surprise of the evening was a $5000 award from Dupont to develop a large wildflower garden at Historic Penn Farm in honor of Kate Pickard, long time teacher in the program.  Great job everybody!

Meet the Board
Meet our new Board President,
Gary Linarducci. Gary has been a member of Delaware Greenways' Board for 4 years.  He got involved in the organization through his work with the Brandywine Byway Partnership, where he is currently serving as co-chair.  Gary spent many years sitting on the Friends of Brandywine Park board previous to his work with us.

Gary is an attorney in private practice and lives in Wilmington with his wife.  He has two children and 4 grandchildren.  He and his family spend time together at their Bethany Beach house.  Gary enjoys working in his garden, pictured here.

Great News for the Bayshore Byway

On April 30th, Governor Carney, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester, and other government officials cut the ribbon on a new Aquatic Resources Education Center located at 2520 Lighthouse Rd in Smyrna.  The center is a jewel in the Bayshore Byway necklace, one of several planned cultural and stops for travelers.  At the event, DNREC officials and the Bayshore Byway committee announced that the byway will extend from its existing route, all the way to Lewes with spurs connecting the small beach communities along the way.  Its great news for the Bayshore, and for Delaware's residents.
