RAGBRAI in Burlington
How often do we get to welcome 20,000+ people to downtown? The Greater Burlington Partnership staff and many, many volunteers and sponsors are working to make sure everyone has a great experience when the riders arrive here on Friday,
July 26. And of course, this is the first time that we've been an overnight community - so get ready to party! The music stages will be set up on the riverfront, with festivities extending along Jefferson St. For all the details, go to BurlingtonRAGBRAI.com.

This will be the first time that many of the riders visit Burlington. Let's make it positive and memorable! Whether you are a resident or a business owner (especially a downtown business owner), make an extra effort to pull weeds, pick up litter, perk up your flowers, and welcome our visitors with a smile and exceptional service that they will remember - and tell their friends about.
A Very Vintage Market Returns
Mark your calendars! The fourth annual Very Vintage Market takes place from 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, July 20. This year, the market will extend down Jefferson from Main to Eighth Sts., with the food court in the 200 block of N. Third. Made possible by by Titan Broadcasting and supported by Pinned It Creations, A Very Vintage Market brings thousands of visitors to our great downtown in search of retro, reused, repurposed, and upcycled treasures. We can't wait!
Gus Macker Hits the Riverfront
The famous Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament returns to the riverfront on August 3 and 4. This festive, family-friendly event is the only one of its kind in Iowa. For more information or to register a team, click here
Outdoor Movies Continue Downtown
Grab a lawn chair and head down to the 5 & V - downtown Burlington's outdoor theater! The movies will be shown on the side of Drake Hardware and Software at Fifth and Valley Streets. There's no admission for the event, though donations are accepted. The movies start at dusk, but be sure to come down early for games and activities - and to pick out a choice spot. There will be snack and drinks available, too.

The Latest News...
  • The recent flooding continues to impact downtown as the cleanup is underway. We are of course saddened by the passing of Bonnie Baldwin and the loss of the Iowa Store, as well as the damage to Memorial Auditorium. The good news is that the city council and staff are making flood remediation even more of a priority. You can do your part by shopping locally as much as possible, since Burlington sales tax proceeds are one of the funding sources for these projects.
  • Note - there will be no Jefferson St. Farmers Market on
    the 4th of July.
  • The next Downtown Kegs & Conversation will be July 31 at 5:15 PM at The Washington. It's a great opportunity for our business owners and employees to connect with each other and strengthen downtown community.
