Our vision is to have a community where no kittens are born wild on the street, no cat capable of living in a home is lacking one, and no feral cats are wanting for food, water, and appropriate care and concern.

SAFCC & The Somerset Cats
|
|
SAFCC usually does not get involved in hoarder cases. However, when we were notified of a deceased person that had 42 cats in a home in Somerset, four of our fosters sprang into rescue mode! We had also been told the Somerset Animal Control could not keep these cats so our fosters pulled 32 cats from the Somerset home and the Animal Control facility. The other 10 cats were placed with a foster in another city. All cats involved were severely dehydrated with some in critical condition. Some of these cats had unfortunately passed away before we were able to help them.
SAFCC called on some of our wonderful rescue partners to help. Animal Defense League (ADL), Helotes Humane Society and Animal Welfare Society of Bandera County stepped up and took in 12 other cats. All cats were evaluated by our veterinarian prior to transfer to our partners.
More to come next month when we have more details to share on the remaining 20 in our care.

Thank you Test America For Your Canned Food Donation!
|
A big thank you to Test America at North Star Mall who had lots of canned cat food on hand for a display test and needed it
removed quickly. SAFCC was more than happy to help! We were able to take 2 vans-full of food off their hands and into the
trucks of some of the colony feeders on our Food Program. Thank you Marte K. who was willing and able to go on short notice
and pick up a van full!

|
Thank you Laura for all your contributions to helping community cats!

Thank you Laura for your six years of dedicated service as our Social Media Manager!
You took our Newsletter and Facebook presence to new heights and we are so appreciative!
Your creative involvement in our fundraisers, to include our most recent Big Give, has

Even though Sweet Olive has only one eye, this has not stopped her from being a crazy kitten! She enjoys climbing her cat tree and ladder in the kitten room. Olive also loves to run around and play, especially with her string toys! She's a cuddle bug too and loves to be carried around like a baby!! Best of both worlds! She does well with other cats/kittens and kids.
