Research and Sponsored Programs Update
Fresh from a third consecutive record-setting year in grants and contracts at Fresno State, we’re showing no signs of slowing down.
The new academic year began with a series of major award announcements, including a three-year, $1.25 million grant from the National Science Foundation to strengthen the representation of the female engineering professoriate in the CSU system.
Drs. Lalita Oka, Kimberly Stillmaker and Arezoo Sadrinezhad (Civil and Geomatics Engineering) will lead a three-pronged approach to increase the representation of women faculty members — especially underrepresented minority women — in the field of engineering.
“This grant is significant in how it will transform our approach to supporting women professors in engineering,” said Fresno State President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval. “Through identifying the main challenging issues, we will strengthen opportunities and implement a holistic approach to encourage female students to pursue the field."

Join us in congratulating everyone involved with this game-changing grant as well as the other new awards listed below. We’re pleased to support their efforts and excited to carry this momentum into October.
