SLA Committee Work: Thanks to Outgoing Committee Members and an Invitation to New Members

Committee work is significant in accomplishing the objectives of SLA. It is an excellent way to engage in matters that are important to the library community, it provides members with an avenue to make new contacts and can be a new experience for committee members.

Many thanks to the work of committee members during 2018-19! Your time, expertise and commitment are critical to supporting the mandate of SLA and the Saskatchewan Library Community. It was an active year and your contributions are much appreciated.
A list of our 2018-19 committee volunteers is here.

Committee work is now transition. Yearend for most committees is June to coincide with board changeover, recognizing that the cycle for some committees varies somewhat. New board members identified SLA Committees on which they will serve over the coming year, as follows:
  • Continuing Education: Christina Winter and Amy Rankin
  • Communications: Linda Winkler (Chair) and Christina Winter
  • Programming: VP of Advocacy and Amber Daigneault
  • Advocacy and Development: VP of Advocacy, Lukas Miller and Nicole Bergen
  • Fundraising: Darrell Yates (Chair) and Nicole Bergen
  • Engagement: Linda Winkler (Chair), Amber Daigneault and Lukas Miller
  • One Book One Province: Colleen Murphy (Chair) and Amy Rankin
If you are interested in serving on any of the SLA committees please contact Dorothea Warren at 306-780-9413 or slaexdir@sasktel.net indicating your interest. Information on the committees and descriptions of committee roles can be found here.

Thank you in advance for considering committee participation. We plan on having committees meet and begin their work in early fall. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
