THE GREEN BOX FILM Project Readies for Shoot in Europe
Recent Events
Author Jim Kurtz helps WWII Veteran Bob Cleverdon receive the French Legion of Honor Medal. Here's how it happened:

Jim writes: "I met Bob Cleverdon by chance in a local grocery store about a year ago. He was wearing a WWII B-24 hat, which automatically drew me to him. I told him about THE GREEN BOX and he gracefully allowed me to read it to him over a period of weeks, as he is 97 years old and has failing eyesight. We became fast friends. Bob was lead navigator in the European Theater, and a few of his bombing missions took him to France. I realized that fact qualified him for the French Legion of Honor. I filled out all the necessary applications for this award with the help of his daughter, Lisa. Recently the French Consulate in Boston contacted me and said the application had been accepted. Bob received his award Sunday, July 14, Bastille Day, at the French Consulate Residence in Boston at a celebration with two other veterans (Charles Rogers and Richmond Bell). I am so happy for him!"

We filmed this celebration as part of The Green Box: At the Heart of a Purple Heart film.

Fundraising News
Military Historical Society of Massachusetts Grant Received!
We are happy to announce the society has given us a grant that will help us travel to Europe 8/1-8/6 to shoot key sequences for our film. Thank you MHSM!!!

The goal of the Military Historical Society of Massachusetts (MHSM) is to encourage studies connected with the military history of our own and other countries, the maintenance of social meetings for the discussion of the same and cooperation with organizations with similar goals and purposes."
We are short of our fundraising goal for the shoot in Europe, but are moving ahead with plans. We are earnestly looking for 3 Angel Donors of $1,000 each to help cover the cost of excess baggage for our film gear. This is SO EXPENSIVE and we can really use any help friends and family can offer. $1,000 donors receive perks including an autographed copy of THE GREEN BOX. Any amount is helpful though, please visit this link for ways to donate or support our efforts:
