Changes to Zone Specifications for Low Children’s, Low Adult Amateur and Low Pony Hunter Sections Beginning Sept. 1
|
The following changes address combining language for Low Hunter sections effective September 1, 2021, for the remainder of the 2021 competition year. These changes will be incorporated into 2022 Zone Specifications for the 2022 competition year beginning December 1, 2021.
Zone 2
Low Adults: Combining/Dividing Sections: If there are fewer than three (3) entries in the Low Adult Amateur Hunter section, it may be combined with the Low Children’s Hunter Horse section. The Low Adult Amateur Hunter Horse section may only be combined with the Low Pony Hunter and Low Children's Hunter Horse sections after those sections have been combined and still do not meet the three (3) entry minimum.
Low Children’s: Combining/Dividing Sections: If there are fewer than three (3) horses entered in the Low Children's Hunter Horse section, then they may be combined and judged with the Low Pony Hunter or the Low Adult Amateur Hunter section. If there are still fewer than three (3) entries after the Low Pony Hunter section has been combined with the Low Children's Hunter Horse section, these sections may only then combine with the Low Adult Amateur Hunter Horse section.
Low Ponies: Combining/Dividing: Can be split. If there are fewer than three (3) ponies the Low Pony Hunter section may combine with the Low Children's Hunter Horse section. If there are still fewer than three (3) entries after the Low Pony Hunter section has been combined with the Low Children's Hunter Horse section, these sections may only then combine with the Adult Amateur Hunter Horse section.

USHJA Outreach Member Highlight
|
|
Elizabeth Sinclair, of Unionville, Pennsylvania, was champion of the 2020 Outreach Jumper .75M-.8M section.
What did you enjoy about participating in the Outreach program in 2020?
A factor that I enjoyed about the 2020 Outreach Program was the variety of classes that one was able to enter.
How did you get involved in the sport?
As soon as I could walk, my mother put me in a saddle, and I fell in love with horses from there on. Thirteen years later, I compete weekly and wouldn't dream of doing anything else.
What is your favorite riding memory?
My favorite riding memory would have to be showing Casper in the rain, he has so much fun in different weather conditions and takes it as a challenge.
What are your riding goals for next year?
My riding goals for this year would have to be showing in junior hunters with my mare, Christmas Morning, and showing in the .90s with my pony, Casper.
What do you enjoy most about the USHJA community?
I especially enjoy the diversity in the sport. USHJA provides you with so many opportunities to take in the equestrian world whether you're a beginner or a pro, USHJA provides you with a class.
