Vocation News around the Country!
I have been hearing some great news from dioceses experiencing a Vocation Boom! One such diocese is Grand Island, Nebraska, which was the first diocese that Vocation Ministry gave a full workshop in 2015. They only had 1 seminarian and were looking for partners at parishes to help find more men who might be discerning. Now, they have 9 seminarians! With 56,000 Catholics, this is a great number!

CARA posted the latest Survey of the 2019 Ordination Class of 481 Priests! The average age of the ordinands is 33 years old. Read it HERE !

One updated statistic that stands out to me is the average age of when these men heard a call to the priesthood was 16 with almost 70% hearing the call between their preteen years and 18 years of age.

More dioceses with great ordination news:
  • Boston, MA: 13 men (1.8 mil Catholics)
  • Cincinnati, OH: 9 men (450,000 Catholics)
  • St. Louis, MO: 7 men (500,000 Catholics)
  • Cleveland, OH: 9 men -7 diocesan (680,000 Catholics)
  • Milwaukee, WI: 6 men (650,000 Catholics)
  • Tulsa. OK: 3 men (60,000 Catholics)
  • Davenport, IA: 3 men (100,000 Catholics)
  • Fort Wayne-South Bend, IN: 3 men (160,000 Catholics)
  • Kansas City, KS: 6 men (220,000 Catholics)
  • Monterrey, California: 4 men (210,000 Catholics)
  • St. Cloud, Minnesota: 3 men (133,000 Catholics)
  • Youngstown, Ohio: 3 men (175,000 Catholics)

World Priest Day- June 28th
This day is set aside to pray for the sanctification of our priests, so consider sharing the mission of the day with every parishioner- young and old! Include every group at the Church in this effort. Our priests need our prayers. It is also the F east of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so carry over what is happening on that Friday to the weekend masses. .
Website Shop NOW Open!
Last week I sent a special email announcing that the new and improved www.VocationMinistry.com is now LIVE!

  1. Visit the Vocation Shop for great gifts and items like Vocation Backpacks for a Boy or Girl and Children's Mass Kit to sign out at your family-heavy Masses! The Vocation Backpack would make great gifts for any child or grandchild!
  2. Many of you did not have the opportunity to buy my NEW Hundredfold Resource Book either, and now you can buy that and copies of Hundredfold at the shop!
  3. Watch a workshop for priests or parishioners from the comfort of your parish hall or your couch! You get a set of books with each purchase of a workshop, too.
Priesthood Sunday- CHANGE OF DATE

Considerable prayer and discernment went into this decision by Serra Leadership, but the principal reason for the change of date is to allow more time between the celebration of Priesthood Sunday and National Vocation Awareness Week, which is a welcome change!
Ministry Spotlight
I would like to introduce you to Victoria Rivera who is Vocation Ministry's newest employee! She will be my new assistant and program coordinator!
