Here are the highlights of our recent activity online. Not all everything is included due to timeliness. If an advertised event already took place, we've left it off.
************* Sharing Local and Regional Information ***********

If you know of or have news, information or upcoming events in your home town that are relevant to families who have children with disabilities or special health care needs and would like us to share that information, please email details to parents@ipulidaho.org for review. Our program coordinator will then share via IPUL's social media networks.

IPULians on the Road Again
It's going to be a busy couple of weeks for the IPULians.

Idaho Parents Unlimited Parent Education Staff will effectively be out of the office beginning Saturday, July 20, 2019 until August 1, 2019.

For the week of July 21st Staff will be in Washington DC at a Department of Education Summit. The following week Staff will be in North Idaho at the Caregiving in Idaho Lifespan Respite Summit, until Thursday, August 1st.

If you will be trying to reach us in that time for assistance, we recommend using the form on our website at: T his link  as this will have the best response time.

Valley Regional Transit seeking final public input on fare increases
MERIDIAN ‐ Valley Regional Transit (VRT) is seeking final public comment on proposed fare increases.

The objective of the fare increases is to have fares cover most of the cost of services consumed. The last fare increase in Ada County was in 2003. In Canyon County, the last fare increase was in 2008.

VRT has scheduled two open houses/public hearings to collect comment:
  • Tuesday, July 23, Nampa Public Library, Conference Room B. The open house is from 5‐ 6:30 p.m. and the public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 24, Collister Branch of the Boise Library, Sycamore Community Room.

The open house is from 5‐6:30 p.m. and the public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m.

More details about the proposed fare policy changes can be viewed at  www.valleyregionaltransit.org

If you cannot attend the open houses/public hearings, you can still provide comment via a survey on the fare changes webpage or by sending comments to info@valleyregionaltransit.org .

The deadline for providing comment is Thursday, July 24.

Valley Regional Transit staff and the VRT Board will review any public comment and the Board may update the fare increases based on this input. The VRT Board is scheduled to vote on any fare increases at its August 5 meeting. Any fare changes would be implemented October 1, 2019

Graham Slam 2019
Graham DeLaet
The Club at Spurwing welcomes Graham Slam 2019 to the course this September 8th & 9th.

Each year the Graham and Ruby DeLaet Foundation hosts their annual charity event, Graham Slam, to raise funds to improve children’s mental health and wellness as well as supporting the development of junior golf across North America. Since 2013, the charity has raised over $1.5 million for its beneficiaries and strives for a fund-raising goal of $250,000 in 2019.

This year, the Graham and Ruby DeLaet Foundation will bring their event to Boise, where they will be partnering with their beneficiaries, Idaho Parents Unlimited and the Idaho Federation of Families for Mental Health to raise funds for their programming.

The two day event will be hosted at The Club at Spurwing and will feature a Superhero themed soirée the night before the event, followed by a day of golf.
If you wish to participate in this event, or support the Graham and Ruby DeLaet Foundation, you can either register at  www.grahamslamevent.com  or contact the tournament manager at ctownsend@wearesbx.com

We look forward to seeing everyone in 2019!

IPUL's Webinar Library:
Just a reminder that we have changed how we present our webinars - rather than a live webinar, are now releasing a series of shorter, prerecorded modules on the same topic as our statewide training. The idea being that once we put them up, they will remain available for anyone to register to see and watch at their leisure.

You can find them here on our website:
