From the Field: Camellia 'Anacostia'
Of all the camellia varieties the National Arboretum has developed over the years, 'Anacostia' is one of the toughest and most cold-hardy. Keep your eye open for 'Anacostia' in the Arboretum's Camellia Collection — it blooms in late winter and spring.

From our Friends: Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay
Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is bringing the Wild & Scenic Film Festival (virtually) to our area!

The live program begins this Thursday, January 21st at 7 PM. Settle in for an evening of nature, adventure, and environmental activism films that "inform, inspire, and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities."
The National Arboretum will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 20th to visitors and staff. We'll see you when it reopens on Thursday, Jan. 21st for normal hours 8 AM - 5 PM. Some buildings and collections remain closed to ensure visitor and staff safety.

Since its inception, FONA has helped support the Washington Youth Garden, Capitol Columns, Flowering Tree Walk, horticultural and research internships, restoration of Springhouse Run, and much more.
