International Holocaust Remembrance Day
Mark your calendar for January 27, 10:00 AM Eastern.

The 76th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz on January 27 this year will be held online and will highlight the fate of children in the camp.

“It is estimated that around 232,000 children and young people were deported to Auschwitz, of whom 216,000 were Jews, 11,000 Roma, around 3,000 Poles, more than 1,000 Belarusians, and several hundred Russians, Ukrainians, and others. Just over 700 were liberated.”

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum website will provide additional details as they are finalized.
Valentine’s Day is a day when we show love to those who mean the most to us. From our significant others to our best friends, school friends to colleague’s, family members near and far, this day has turned into a yearly reminder to let the people we love hear it.

This year, nearly a full year of “pausing in place,” the Town of Orangetown is asking you to join us in sending cards to those who could use an extra smile. We’re talking about our elders, a group of well-seasoned, incredible humans who are sometimes forgotten.

Welcome to OPERATION LOVE OUR SENIOR CITIZENS.

The Town will be collecting Valentine’s Day cards through Tuesday, February 9, 2021 for our local senior citizens and we will distribute later that week.

Buy a card or better yet, make a card for a senior citizen, bring it to Town Hall and drop it in the box marked “Operation Love Our Senior Citizens.”

You’ll be very happy you did.

Need some ideas on how to make a card? Visit the following websites:
Our Military Tribute Banners will be opening up next week for new orders. If you have previously subscribed to our banners, you can renew at any time. Feel free to email Supervisor@Orangetown.com or call (845) 359-5100 x 2293 for more information. Thank you.
