Sayville Ferry Service
The Sayville Ferry Service has informed us that it is highly likely that they will be running the ferries tomorrow.  However, please be sure to check the Sayville Ferry Service website prior to heading out tomorrow.  As of today, the seasonal parking lot is dry.  The paid parking lot is flooded.  Additional paid parking is available at Coastline Freight.

FIMI Project
To date, 350,000 cubic yards of sand has been placed on the Pines beach and another 500,000 cubic yards of sand remains to be placed. Sand placement should complete by the end of October , weather dependent. Temporary public access walks have been placed at all walks except for the three at the western end of the community. Work on permanent public access walks should begin soon. We have been very pleased at how well the project has held up in recent storms. There has been little to no erosion in the eastern end of the Pines where the sand has been placed.  We looked forward to the completion of the project.

Fire Destroys Three Homes In Ocean Bay Park
We are sorry to report that a fire occurred in Ocean Bay Park last night. Three homes were destroyed and a number of others damaged. The extent of the damage was attributable to the high winds.  Thirteen fire departments responded to the fire, which started around 1:30 am.  Luckily, nobody was hurt in the fire.  No official cause of the fire has been determined at this time.
