The Byway's CMP was initially approved in 2005. Greenways will lead it's updating, working with the committee and engaging the community in the process.

Jack A. Markell Trail Update
THIS IS HAPPENING!!! The Jack A. Markell Trail , connecting the Wilmington Riverfront to New Castle, will be completed THIS summer! With it's pedestrian bridge connecting the two cities, the trail is also an important link for the East Coast Greenway , which allows bike and foot travel from Maine to Florida. We are thrilled that so many people will be able to enjoy this amazing trail in the State of Delaware!

NCC Bicycle Master Plan

Delaware Greenways is coordinating with Wilmington Area Planning Commission (WILMAPCO), the agency preparing the Master Bicycle Plan for New Castle County, in two areas:

1. Public outreach in the areas that coincide with the Future Trails of Northern Delaware project

2. Technical sharing of information from our Coalition members and from our data base of information.

US Route 202 Master Plan

We want to help encourage walking and biking from adjacent neighborhoods along Route 202, by making it easier and safer to do so.

This Spring a study team will examine ways to make the 202 Corridor safe for pedestrians and bicyclists. Issues to be resolved include intersection crossings, discountinuous sidewalks, and turning traffic.

This project will get rolling soon! We'll keep you updated on its progress.
Ironically, we're in need of a bike! Can you help us?!

(1) Used adult hybrid 17" frame bike (for the short person on our staff).

We've got work to do on the Greenways!
