Second Sunday after Pentecost

Weekly Chimes

Hello Old Donation!

It's been a great official start to summer vacation. Six teens, Summer Johnson, and I had a great trip to Water Country USA on Monday, though that unexpected storm blew through and cut the day a bit short. But I think everyone was secretly exhausted and ready to leave. The summer fun begins!

We have a light week as far as the schedule around here goes. There is nothing out of the norm on the calendar until Saturday, when we will be holding Doris Mace's memorial service at Westminster Canterbury at 1:00. The Rev. Jenny Spivey (a chaplain at Westminster Canterbury) and I will be officiating the service, and all are welcome to join us. There will be a reception following the memorial.

Fr. Bob will be back from vacation on Sunday, and will be preaching at 8:00, 10:30, and 5:00 services. I will be in the Gathering, and will head to the Mission of the Holy Spirit service at 2:30pm. Particularly since there isn't much going on this week, I encourage all of you to consider joining me. Many of you heard Keith Josey preach at our Easter Vigil this year and loved his sermon-you can hear him again this coming Sunday if you come to the Mission! Let me know if you're interested, or have any questions.

That's all for now, my friends. Enjoy your week, and I'll see you soon.

In Christ,

Clara Schannep Jensen Interment
Clara Schannep Jensen will be interred at Arlington Cemetery at 11am on June 28, 2019. Clara's nephew, Greg Schannep, a retired Army chaplain, will preside. In honor of Clara's service to the American Red Cross, after the service, there will be a reception in the "Tiffany Room" at the American Red Cross Building, 430 17th Street, Washington DC. The room the Red Cross is letting us use for the reception is historically significant for having the largest Tiffany windows outside of a church building.  ~Juanita Leisch Jensen
