A Message from the Associate Dean
Caroline Schauer
How are you doing, really? During these increasingly challenging times, we need to reach out to our extended Drexel family to connect, comfort, and inspire. We are at the end of what has been the most demanding quarter from my time at Drexel. Please remember that my team and I are here for you as a resource, whatever your needs may be.

Since our last newsletter the National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced delayed implementation of use of ScienCV or the NSF fillable PDFs as the only acceptable formats for the Biographical Sketch & Current and Pending Support documents to October 5, 2020. Recent Awards

Congratulations to Dr. Matthew Stamm (ECE) for receipt of his Army Research Office grant, “Detecting Fake Images and Videos Using AI and Multimedia Forensics.” This project will develop a set of algorithms and software tools to detect fake content in images and videos, using recent advances in multimedia forensics research to extract traces from an image or video that are left by editing and content falsification, as well as advanced techniques from artificial intelligence to search for these traces and detect and localize any falsified or altered content.
An article co-authored by Dr. Sorin Siegler was ranked in the top 10% of downloads in the Journal of Orthopedic Research.
Dr. James Lo was interviewed for a Washington Post article on air flow and the coronavirus In restaurants.
Remote Teaching Workshops

Back by popular demand, the Teaching and Learning Center has added a few workshops to help you prepare for teaching remotely this summer! These interactive sessions provide the opportunity to share teaching strategies with colleagues and brainstorm ways to implement them within your own course(s).

Electronic Research Notebooks Webinars

Go digital with an Electronic Research Notebook (ERN) powered by LabArchives. ERNs help researchers to manage the results of research efforts, record and document research processes and procedures, and manage digital research data in ways that increase reproducibility, efficiency, collaboration, searchability, and security. Sign up for one of Drexel’s upcoming trainings.
