Annual Conference 2020: Registration is Open!
Presented and hosted by:
Aviation technician education’s premier event is scheduled for March 29-April 1 . The agenda is jam-packed with something for everyone. Instructors, administrators, career services personnel, designated mechanic examiners, company recruiters and workforce development professionals are encouraged to attend.
The 2020 conference will be better than ever, with new exhibitors, a student career fair, breakout sessions with relevant information for a cross-section of aviation professionals, and evening events with Fort Worth flair. The FAA will also host DME recurrent training the day following adjournment for those looking to satisfy biennial requirements.

Exhibit Hall
Introduce your company to more than 150 representatives of the aviation maintenance education community. Exhibitors have dedicated space in the exhibit hall, are recognized in conference materials, and receive passes to attend the entire event. Read more.
Employer Link
For the fourth-straight year, ATEC will facilitate a networking event connecting educators and employers. The Employer Link will kick off with a student career fair, attracting students from all over Texas. Employers are encouraged to register early to ensure maximum marketing exposure.  Read more.

Choose Aerospace
In September, the ATEC board elected to move forward with official incorporation of a charitable organization with the purpose of raising awareness of careers in aviation.

A new scholarship and award program will be a central initiative for the organization. Opportunities will be announced early 2020.

Get Educated: The Promoting Aviation Regulations for Technical Training (PARTT) 147 Act
Last week, ATEC announced that congressional leaders were gearing up to introduce legislation that would direct the FAA to promulgate very specific, community-drafted language in place of the current 14 CFR part 147. The community is encouraged to reach out to congressional leaders to solicit support for the Act. ATEC has created a grassroots "toolkit" to help guide members through the process. Take Action.
Bill Would Create PSAs to Raise Aviation Career Awareness
​ATEC is supporting legislation to address workforce shortages and increase diversity. The Promoting Service in Transportation Act (HR 5118) would create public service campaigns to raise awareness of aviation and other transportation careers.   Read More.
Coalition Continues Push for Federal Workforce Grants
After the Senate passed its appropriates package, which included only $5 million in funding for both the pilot and AMT grant programs, a coalition of aviation organizations, including ATEC, sent a letter to congressional leaders urging adoption of the House-passed version which appropriated $10 million.   Read More.
Fall 2019 Journal: Maintenance Camp, Teaching Recordkeeping, High School A&P Spotlight
In this issue: Read about a mixed method study on the implementation of an aviation maintenance camp and how to incorporate recordkeeping requirements into the classroom. Help Tell Our Story
The council is surveying aviation maintenance technical program representatives. An invitation to participate was delivered to each school's primary contact earlier this month. ( Let us know if you did not receive it). While the deadline to respond has passed, ATEC is reaching out to schools that have not yet responded through Thanksgiving . Read more.
Membership Renewal
Membership renewals are due Jan. 1. Invoices were sent to the primary and billing contacts for all members. If you did not receive a notice, let us know .
