FCT's NEW Season 2019 - 2020
Audition Workshop,  Youth Theatre Production  & More!
Fauquier Community Theatre presents
Quick Link to Tickets: Click  HERE

The Fauquier Community Theatre is thrilled to present one of the most beloved musicals of all time,  MY FAIR LADY.

This past season has been a very successful one for Fauquier Community Theatre, and for their last show, they have chosen a classic that has been charming audiences for 63 years.
Peter Marsh as Henry Higgins, Emily Miller as Eliza Doolitte, & David Horne playing Colonel Pickering.

My Fair Lady is the musical version of George Bernard Sh aw's play, Pygmalion, and tells the classic tale of social classes and how they interact. Emily Miller plays the fetching Eliza Doolittle, a Covent Garden flower peddler who wants to take speech lessons so she can speak like a proper lady and get a job in a flower shop. Peter Marsh plays the confirmed bachelor, Henry Higgins, a linguistics professor , who decides to teach Eliza, and bets an old friend that he can transform the girl in six months. As audiences are dazzled by FCT's production, they are also left wondering just who was transformed. The charming story features many of Alan Lerner and Frederick Loewe's most sparkling songs, including "Wouldn't It Be Loverly?", "Get Me to the Church on Time", and "On the Street W here You Live". It is no wonder that everyone, since it first opened on Broadway in 1956, has called My Fair Lady "the p erfect musical."
Brighid Hughes as Maid, Emily Miller as Eliza Doolittle, Hilary Pierce as Mrs. Pearce, & Jessica Grimmett as Maid.
Director Lucia Hanover says, "Rehearsals so far have been f antastic . The ca st is enthusiastic and creative, finding their characters through 'play.' I have encouraged them  to use the text of the script to find their characters, and it has been a collaborative effort that has paid off."

Heading the skillful cast is Emily Miller as the fetching Eliza, and Peter Marsh as Professor Higgins. Audiences may remember them from FCT's production of Big Fis h last season. Emily's vocals are superb, and paired with her Cockney accent and her acting and dancing talent, it is no wonder she was chosen for the classic role of the lowly flower peddler.

Marsh is also just pe rfect as the self-absorbed Higgins.....with a proper English accent and a superior air that plays opposite Eliza's Cockney brogue just perfectly. His connection with the audience will delight theatre-goers as they watch him confidently proclaim his independence.

Cristian Bustillos as Freddy.

Mark Kaiser plays Eliza's father, a drunk and a charlatan. His knack for physical comedy, facial expressions, and animated dancing  just light up the stage. Adding to these lead roles are twenty other amazingly talented actors  who are totally committed to bringing this cl assic tale to life on FCT's stage in May.

Fauquier Community Theatre's  production of My Fa ir Lady is directed by Lucia  Hanover, produce d b y Amanda Gibson, sponsored by Brookside Neighbors, and presented by special arrangement with MTI, Intl. Seussicalâ„¢ The Musical
Directed by Betsy Hansen
Produced by Brooke Lyn Clark
Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination - Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.
The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
