This month, the Washington Business Journal contacted us to share some good news among all the chaos:
Donohoe is a 2020 Best Places to Work honoree! THANK YOU for sharing the details of your experience as a member of Team Donohoe in the Quantum Workplaces survey this past February. We can't wait to reveal our place on the list of top DC-area employers, hopefully, at the awards ceremony this August.
It is now just over a month since Donohoe began taking necessary precautions due to Covid-19, making adjustments to work sites, schedules, and processes. Every day has brought new news of Covid-19 advancements and policies and procedures designed to get us through this current state. As coronavirus has evolved, so has Donohoe - the themes this past month have been uncertainty, challenge, vigilance, and change, as well as strength, flexibility, courage, and teamwork. Although we've experienced some hardships, we are also seeing some positive advancements, as reported by our divisional presidents below.
Divisional Covid-19 Status Updates
"DRES has over 1,000 tenants in its portfolio. Our team is working hard to assist them to make it through this unprecedented time in our history. In addition, DRES manages the FEMA headquarters building which is now the headquarters for the Pandemic Response. All of the DRES people are working hard to ensure our clients and tenants navigate the challenges we are all facing. We are confident we will emerge a stronger and closer company!"
TIM GALLAGHER, President, Donohoe Real Estate Services

"DHS is incredibly grateful to our “essential workers” who continue to show up every day and provide a memorable experience to the guests that currently call our hotels home. Over the past few weeks, our hotel guests have generously expressed appreciation to our hotel teams. One guest at the Residence Inn Rosslyn brought down an envelope with $800 to be divided amongst the team for the courteous, kind and committed service she received during these trying times. The Residence Inn Dupont Circle received two large “Thank You” cookie cakes from a long-term guest acknowledging the professionalism and poise they have shown throughout this ordeal. Over the next several weeks, our greatest focus is team member and guest safety. Please stay safe by frequently washing your hands, wearing face masks and practicing social distancing. We are beginning to see some signs of promise towards the latter half of the year. Together, we will get to the other side."
THOMAS PENNY, President, Donohoe Hospitality Services

"DDC would like to thank all of our division partners for your continued efforts on both our project in construction, the Cambria Hotel Washington DC Capitol Riverfront, which continues to make great progress during this difficult time, as well as all of our projects currently in the planning and design process. We continue to meet major milestones, while working to carefully conserve our resources. Our pipeline remains robust, we remain optimistic, and we look forward to moving many of our projects forward in late 2020 and early 2021!"
EVAN WEISMAN, President, Donohoe Development Company

"CBS continues to stand strong and support our customers and buildings through this pandemic. Our essential employees have been unwavering in their commitment to provide excellent customer service, MEP service and repair, facilities support services, operations and maintenance, and energy management services through these unprecedented times. Our business development team was notified of two contract awards last week, a promising bit of news that there will be better times ahead, and that we will get through this. We are especially proud to support all of the Donohoe family companies, and want to thank them for supporting CBS. Stay strong and stay safe TEAM CBS and TEAM DONOHOE! Together we will get through this; together we will prevail."
BUTCH BARRY, President, Complete Building Services

"The dedicated team members of DCC are staffing all the projects in both the Specialty and Base Building departments and are continuing to press onward amidst the uncertainty. While there have been some slight declines in manpower levels and some isolated delays in supply chain deliveries, our teams are making constant adjustments to daily routines and managing the supply of disinfecting supplies to keep the workforce safe and productive."
STEVE DONOHOE, President, Donohoe Construction Company

Make Your Own Covid-19 Face Mask
The CDC now recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings to help slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Recommended masks are not surgical masks or N-95 masks that are scarce and critical for healthcare workers. Instead, the CDC offers simple advice to make a homemade cloth mask for everyday use.

Each of our divisions are doing their best to supply masks for essential employees - some large orders are even being distributed across our locations today. However, masks continue to be in short supply and our orders do not always arrive on time. If you are unable to find face coverings for use by your family, or if there is a short supply at your job site, use the CDC instructions to make your own mask so that you can help to keep us all healthy.
