The POWER of Girl Scouts! Emily M. from Shawnee, KS helped lead some super cool programs at Camp Tongawood last weekend. Emily taught these Girl Scouts some of her favorite camp songs. You can certainly tell with that GREAT BIG HUG how the younger GS sisters look up to this fantastic teen leader. Great job and thank you, Emily! This is what being a Girl Scout means!!

Troop 2076 - DeSoto/Shawnee, KS
GaGa Ball, anyone? It's a Girl Scout favorite activity at camp, and thanks to this Girl Scout Ambassador Troop, Camp Tongawood has its newest addition. These leaders worked hard creating and installing this sure to be favorite activity! This well-built and beautiful GaGa Ball Pit has already gotten some Girl Scout use, but it's ready for summer where we have the most Girl Scouts visit during Day Camp season. Thanks to Troop 2076 for all their hard work and giving this camp another exciting addition!!

Troop 1052 - Blue Springs, MO
Shout out to Girl Scout Cadettes who just finished a really cool project as part of their Think Like an Engineer Journey. For their Take Action project, these Girl Scouts made 150 whisper phones to donate to the Independence School District. Teachers use whisper reading in lots of ways. Whisper phones can be especially useful for younger children who struggle with the different sounds letters make. Whisper phones can also help kids with reading fluency. Way to go, Troop 1052!!

This coming
Monday, April 22nd
we celebrate a very special day, and we want your help in this celebration! It's Girl Scout Leaders' Day - a Day where we shout out amazing women & men who STAND UP FOR G.I.R.L.s!
In fact, the whole month of April is a time to celebrate volunteers. Volunteers make it all possible. Without these special individuals, there would be no adventure, travel, field trips, learning new skills or fun for our Girl Scouts.
Join your Girl Scout and celebrate her troop leader or special volunteer on Monday or before the end of April.
It's such an important thing to do. Volunteers love a special written note, a photo album of fave photos throughout the year, an art project, a gift card to a restaurant or special place you know he / she would enjoy. A special gift from the heart means everything!
Here's a great idea that Girl Scouts across the country are doing, send a special e-card that shares just why a troop leader or other special GS volunteer is so special to your Girl Scout and family.

On April 7, 47 Girl Scouts became GOLD AWARD Girl Scouts! 1,500 Girl Scouts, friends and families enjoyed 20 Community Partner booths, 6 GSKSMO program booths and visited with Bronze, Silver and Gold Award Girl Scouts and learned how they stepped up and took action to make their communities a better place! Girl Scout Teen Night at the T-Bones
|
Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors are invited out to Community America Ballpark for an entire day of fun, JUST FOR TEENS on June 1! Girls will attend a program for teen Girl Scouts, tailgate, eat dinner, and watch the game. After the last out enjoy a fireworks show, watch a movie and campout on the field with your fellow Girl Scout Sisters. Breakfast will be served the in the morning.

To pursue your Gold Award...
- Be in high school (ninth through twelfth grade, or equivalent)
- Complete two Senior or Ambassador Journeys OR earn the Girl Scout Silver Award and complete a Journey
- Attend a Go Gold Workshop (listed below)
