Our K-5 students LEVELED-UP during our EOY i-Ready Diagnostic Testing Window. Kudos to ALL students! It was our goal to "GO GREEEN!"

Monday, April 22nd, is EARTH DAY. As part of the effort to create awareness about how to take good care of OUR planet, students have been learning about the 3 R's (Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle). I would to share this beautiful song related to the Earth.

The "Night of the Arts" will be Wednesday, May 17th from 6-7 p.m. We are proud of our talented TIGERS.

In celebration of Mother's Day we would like to invite all mothers, grandmothers, aunts, female guardians, adult sisters and cousins to our "Muffins for Mom." The event will be held on May 10th from 7:45-8:15 a.m. in the Media Center.

As a reminder from last week, our AMAZING Field Day events and activities have been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 15th.
 
The EOY (End of the Year) Diagnostic i-Ready K-5 testing window continues through April 30th.
 
Calling all 3-5 students, we are still have another Saturday School session in preparation for FSA. If you have not attended one of our Saturday School sessions, it is not too late! You may print out the Saturday School registration form (below) and either return it to your teacher or bring the completed copy with you to our next Saturday School Session on April 27th. Breakfast is served between 8:00-8:30 a.m. and instruction is between 8:30-11:30 a.m. 
 
 
We are gladly accepting FSA T-Shirt donations for our grades 3-5 students from any interested companies, organizations, or individuals. You may submit your gracious donations electronically through https://www.schoolpay.com/ 
 
Thank you in advance and we appreciate your support.

Students in grades Pre-K thru Second Grade are being asked to were a "Green T- Shirt" as a form of motivational support for our testing grades 3-5 starting Tuesday, May 1 through Thursday, May 9th.

Pictured very top: Olivia Smith from Ms. Alonso's first grade class is the first student to achieve 50 Point Club status for Accelerated Reader! Students earn points after taking quizzes about the library books that they check-out. These points accumulate and students earn prizes for each Point Club that they achieve. Olivia is the first student to earn a color-changing squishy ball and a new free book that she selected!

REMINDER: APRIL CHARACTER TRAIT - "SPORTSMANSHIP" 
 
Each month, teachers select a student of the month that displayed the month's character trait. These students of the month participate in a celebration with treats, drinks, a video, and they receive a certificate!

Ms. Tarpley, 5th Grade 
 

Q: How long have you been a teacher? How long at TPES?
A: I've only been a teacher for 2 months.

Q: Where did you graduate from college?
A: I graduated from Rollins College.



Q: What is your favorite part about being a teacher?
A: What I enjoy most is seeing that light bulb go off in my students when they understand a concept and I see growth.

Q: What book is your favorite book?
A: I have a lot of favorite books but if I had to choose, I guess the Dr. Seuss series and Holes.

Q: Do you have any hobbies or interests?
A: I love sports. I played basketball. I like to go to the movies, the beach, and shop. I'll shoot some pool or even play laser tag. I'm just a big kid!

"Benefiting Children and Families in the Tangelo Park Community"

 
The Tangelo Park 2-3-4-Year-Old Program provides FREE day care, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for all 2, 3, 4, or 5-year-old children who live in the Tangelo Park Community.
