Gary Mercer of Continental Automotive Systems is Appointed to CAWA's Board of Directors
(Sacramento, CA - August 5, 2020)  
Gary Mercer of Continental Automotive Systems has been appointed to CAWA's Board of Directors. The appointment was made by Tom Seboldt, Chair of the Board, who commented: "Gary has served CAWA for many years as a member of our Manufacturers' Advisory Council and now he will serve on the Association's Board of Directors, as well". "He has supported the Association in many ways and now we will look forward to his participation and contributions, as a member of the Board, in assisting CAWA to achieve its goals as an effective automotive aftermarket industry organization".

For more than four decades Mr. Mercer has had the opportunity to work with several of the great companies in the Aftermarket. Early career employers charted his voyage as he began his storied and diverse aftermarket career beginning with a "Big Box" retailer managing a 20 bay Auto Center. He later joined Monroe Automotive in National Accounts calling on mass retailers and installers and in the later portion of his career with Monroe as he also represented the exhaust manufacturer Walker (both Tenneco Companies). He later worked for companies such as Raybestos (BPI), ITT Aimco, and Brembo North America. Rounding out the other companies he has had the pleasure to be a part of are IAP Dura (now Durago), Qualitee International (now APS) and Best Brakes, an Asian owned supplier. Today, Mr. Mercer's responsibilities include sales of aftermarket products manufactured by Continental Corporation by their Auto Aftermarket Division. His responsibilities include sales to the traditional distributor market in the Western 26 states. He is married to Deborah and they have two children. Upon the appointment, Mr. Mercer commented: "My faith and family are the source of my passion that I express every day through my efforts in the Aftermarket. My positions in my career have given me the privilege to visit and work with people in all 50 States, Canada and Mexico as well as in Asia and Europe".
