This Awesome Girls online event will bring together two of America's boldest leaders. Mary Barra is Chairman and CEO of General Motors, our country's biggest car maker. Mary is changing the automotive industry, making cars safer and better for our environment. Sylvia Acevedo is CEO of Girl Scouts. As an actual rocket scientist, she's leading the way for girls to take on some of the world's biggest challenges.

Please note, this event begins at 2pm Eastern, 1pm Central, 12pm Mountain, and 11am Pacific.

This is the second in a series of three events for girls in grades K-5 that will help bring the new Girl Scouts Automotive Engineering badges to life. In this event, you’ll hear from a General Motors car engineer about how she builds upon the work of the car designer to develop and test a machine that’s ready to go to the assembly line and find out how you can earn the Automotive Engineering badge.

With all the challenges we’ve faced this year, it’s so important to come together to celebrate all your girl has accomplished as we look to a brighter future ahead. Join us in August, along with some very special guests, for our special virtual bridging events! We’re keeping that unstoppable Girl Scout spirit shining on high no matter what. Because Girl Scouts have never shied away from embracing change, and this year has proven that beyond measure.

Who are the people who work together in your government, and how do they decide what rules are made and how they are followed? In this special event celebrating the new Girl Scouts Civics badges for grades K–5, you’ll learn the answers to these questions, plus find out how you can use your voice to make changes in your community!

Join us for a very special panel event for middle and high school girls in celebration of the new Girl Scouts Civics badges. At a time when so many young people are motivated to make sustainable change in the world, it’s important to understand how the systems of government work and how you can participate in them to really make a difference. Our panelists—four inspiring, civically active women, including two Gold Award Girl Scouts and one Gold Award alum!—will tell you how they have worked to create lasting change, and how you can too.

Join Idaho Public Television on August 11 at 8 p.m. for a special online screening of the Idaho Experience documentary "Ahead of Her Time: Women’s Suffrage in Idaho," followed by a live Q and A with Emmy Award-winning documentarian Jennie Sue Weltner and historian Rebecca Scofield.

In August, America celebrates 100 years of voting rights for women with the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

By 1920, women in Idaho had already been voting in and winning elections for 24 years. How Idaho became the fourth state to grant women voting rights is the subject of this new Idaho Experience documentary, which broadcasts Thursday, August 13, at 8:30 p.m.
