As someone who is particularly impatient, I often feel that the right time is now and am frustrated when God doesn’t seem to feel the same way. We often hear that God has a plan and we just need to trust in what God has in store for us. Looking around at the world we’re living in right now, I think, “What kind of crazy plan is this?” As a rising freshman, I get increasingly impatient for the right time for quarantine to be over. I’m going into high school with no idea of what to expect (like practically any freshman), but also the realization that it might be a long time before I get the chance to figure things out. Many other people have similar problems – not only that they’re coming into something unsure, but also that they’re leaving something behind feeling unsatisfied. The simple solution seems to be for this pandemic to end, so we can all get back to our “normal” lives. We turn to God, saying, “How are you not seeing this brilliant fix?” We like when things are easy and convenient for us. We like when things work out just how we want them to. We don’t even mind working hard for it, but we like to think we’re in control of our lives. However, God is more of a long-term thinker. He looks beyond the present situation. Perhaps if we could see into the future too, we would understand God’s reasoning. But as we cannot, our role is one of patience and trust in His timing according to His plan.
