Getting  to  Goals:
it starts with a plan.
We've had the good fortune to bring in many new clients over the past few months, and one thing consistently surprises us: when we ask about their current marketing plan during our on-boarding process, we're often met with a pained expression.

We've come to learn that all too many organizations simply don't have an annual plan document, much less a formal marketing plan.

How about you?

If you've put off real planning, for whatever reason, it's time to fix that. And right now is the time to begin for 2017.

At Burgess Advertising & Marketing, we have nearly 30 years of experience helping clients develop effective marketing plans without a huge investment of time or money. In just a month or two, we can help you...
  • clarify your business and marketing objectives
  • identify the most profitable target audiences
  • budget wisely and effectively
  • implement the key strategies that will fuel your growth...immediately and in the future.

Helping ITS, Inc.
celebrate  20 years!
Proving experience does count in
information technology.

"Twenty years is a long time in the IT field," noted Chris Lee, President-CEO of ITS, Inc. "So we know we're doing something right."

2016 MTUG IT Summit & Tradeshow in July.
At Burgess, we're proud to help tell the world about all the things ITS has done right to become a trusted IT service provider to clients across North America. We've summed up the reasons in three words: innovation, trust and service--which conveniently provide the three initials for their name, although it actually stands for the more prosaic "Information Technology Solutions."

Long identified as an IBM Premier Business Partner, ITS now does more than sell and service Big Blue's storage hardware and software. They're a respected provider of IT consulting, managed services, and staff augmentation, and offer a full range of hardware as well.  As President-COO Rob Connary explained, "Many companies turn to us when their ordinary systems provider can't solve a problem quickly or efficiently enough. Our expert team of engineers has the basic smarts, plus years of training in data management, and deep experience in solving problems."

In the run-up to the 20th anniversary this fall, we've refreshed the ITS brand to reflect their stature as a leader in the field. We've produced a recent series of ads in Maine Biz (below); a video explaining what sets them apart; and a series of blogs as part of an in-bound marketing plan.
Check out the new ITS website at itsne.com. Then give us a call if you need to boost your brand. (And give ITS a call if your company needs creative IT solutions, to manage large quantities of data, especially in the fields of healthcare, food distribution, or education!)

Dear Clients & Friends,

Welcome back to the work world after a fabulous summer! I hope you're ready to set your business up for success in 2017, but if not, we would be glad to help. (See lead article at left on the importance of planning, and our relatively painless approach to creating your 2017 annual plan.)

We're currently excited about planning 2017 for two of our newer clients, New England Cancer Specialists and Educate Maine. The next year is key for these two very different organizations, and I look forward to sharing more details of
our work for them in an
upcoming  e-news.

On a personal note, I've moved from my home of 12 years to a condo, still in Cumberland. I'm excited about not fixing the plumbing, replacing the walls,
or mowing the lawn for the foreseeable future!

I look forward to talking  with you soon! Have a fabulous fall!

Regards,
Meredith Strang Burgess,
President

The Burgess Summer Work Outing
Our annual summer outing, a cruise on Casco Bay where we were pedaling to propel our pontoon party boat, operated by Maine BayCycle. The pedaling burned off all the calories we consumed in the form of baked goods, beer and wine...and we made it back to port safe.  It was a fun way to enjoy summer afternoon in Maine!
Tri for a Cure  Update

Dana Rutherford are ready
to take the plunge!
Speaking of pedaling (and swimming and running) for a purpose, the ninth annual Tri for a Cure in July was the most successful single fundraiser in Maine history, raising close to $1.7 million to help in the fight against cancer right here in Maine. Congratulations to all who finished, especially our Burgess team (see photo above)! And thanks to all of you who supported us financially, as well. Sign up is open already to join us for the 10th annual Tri for a Cure on July 23, 2017 at TriforaCure.org
