HOT CROSS BUNS AND AN EASTER EGG HUNT AFTER WORSHIP ON SUNDAY: You are most welcome to join us downstairs in Bates Hall to enjoy hot cross buns, coffee, and fellowship! Children, their families, and the young at heart are invited to stay in the Sanctuary after the service for an Easter egg hunt! Please come to the front of the sanctuary after the morning’s Postlude if you’d like to participate in the egg hunt!
FOR FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN: We are delighted that you may celebrate with us this Sunday morning! Your children are most welcome and encouraged to stay in the Sanctuary for the entirety of the morning’s service. We also have a nursery with a wonderful team of caregivers downstairs off of Bates Hall (please see an usher if you need help finding it). On Sunday mornings, we offer a creative and interactive Godly Play Sunday School curriculum for children that begins at 10:30 am. We warmly welcome you and your family to join us!
ON EASTER SUNDAY we will sing a new hymn with words composed by Christine James, Barbara Darling and Karen Henry. The tune, by Gustav Holst, is not in our hymnals. If you would like to hear the tune before Sunday, and read the beautiful words, click on the link below which will direct you to the choir page on the Covenant
website: The hymn will be accompanied by brass and organ. We hope to hear all of you singing with confidence and joy on this special occasion.
OUR BRASS MUSIC SUNDAY, THANKS TO REDLINE BRASS, is offered in celebration of the life of Ed Cutler (May, 1935 –September, 2006). Ed was a beloved member of Church of the Covenant with a passion for music. In his youth he sang and played the violin. Before he lost his vision he sang in community and church choirs. He was a biology professor, avid “birder,” and environmentalist who served on many local environmental committees. At COTC, he served on the Personnel Committee, supported youth group pilgrimages, and chaired the committee that called Minister of Music Tom Handel.
