Letting Go

Most of us are anxious for the light, the flowers, the sense of renewal that Easter morning brings.  Few of us wait eagerly each year for the crucifixion of that preceding Friday.  But do we get to our new beginning without letting go of the past, the old and that which has died?

In Keep A True Lent, Charles Fillmore says, "The word crucifixion means the crossing out in consciousness of certain errors that have become fixed states of mind; it is the enactment by a master of the final extinction of carnal mind, the giving up of the whole personality in order that the Christ Mind may be expressed in all its fullness. This is represented by the crucifixion of Jesus. Every time we give up error there is a crucifixion."

Every time we give up error!  Most of us have been through times of darkness.  Some brief and some that make us question when light will truly break through again.  Although we can willingly give up error beliefs, often we do not step easily onto  that path. So our greatest breakthroughs and times of transformation may also be those long, dark nights of the soul in which we struggle.  What if we came to accept that if we find ourselves in darkness, it is a call to let go of some error belief that is keeping us from our greatest peace?  What if we could remember that the time in darkness is the preparation for the new light seeking room to expand within us?   What if the caterpillar could KNOW the glory of wings that awaited once the time in the cocoon was complete?

During this holy week, take a moment to reflect upon those times of transformation in your life.  Maybe right now is one of them.  What error and limiting thoughts are you called to let go of?  Life is eternal; love is unconditional; we are always One.   Leave the false beliefs in the tomb and know they are without power and life as you step into the Light of Christ Mind.
