Share the Plate
There's no UBarU without U!
In April, all checks and envelopes marked "Share the Plate" and half of all undesignated cash will go to support UBarU. The Unitarian Universalist Camp and Retreat Center is located in the storied Hill Country near Kerrville, Texas. UBarU serves UU congregations and other groups consistent with the mission of providing a welcoming, peaceful place to gather for spiritual, educational, and recreational purposes in harmony with our Unitarian Universalist Principles and the land.

Easter: Baby/Child Dedication

Endowment News
There are now two additional pages under the Endowment tab on the Live Oak website. They are Endowment presentation, an overview of Live Oak's Endowment and Previous Endowment awards, a short write up of each grant that has been awarded between 2013 - 2018 (most recent grants).
These new additions should help members understand the outreach of our endowment program and assist future grant applicants to understand the size and types of grants that are awarded.

HELP DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO OUR NEIGHBORS
Live Oak Church will be distributing food to our neighbors. Please volunteer to help:
* Friday, April 19th @ 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Live Oak parking lot. This is when we distribute the food to our neighbors. Volunteers are needed to set up and take down the tables, help with the selection of food, and help carry food to our neighbors cars. You do not need to remain the entire 2 & 1/2 hours. Your help is appreciated!
This partnership with Hill Country Community Ministries is the church's "signature project". It is our opportunity to live our Mission of ENRICHING CONNECTIONS with our neighbors in need. Any questions please contact Donna Durbin at: HCCM@liveoakuu.org.

Spring Campout Rained Out
Eleven hopeful campers enjoyed Cedar Breaks Park in Georgetown for parts of last weekend, in between a strong thunderstorm and high winds.
Except for myself, the campers that attended are fairly new to Live Oak and we enjoyed getting acquainted while the weather held out. If you're interested in the campouts, join the Live Oak UU Camping Group facebook page and/or contact me, Jen Swan, at campout@liveoakuu.org. We'll be planning the Fall Campout soon, deciding on a date and location, and suggestions are welcome.

to know this week!
Upcoming Adult RE
Join the
Social Action Forum on April 28, 10 AM, as we wrap up our year of conversations with
"What's Next for You?"
Fuller Theological Conversations: Ecclesiology (Our Walls) - Join our final theological conversation for the year at 10 AM on May 5, as we talk about what holds Unitarian Universalism together as a religious community - Covenant and Polity.
Summer
Musings on the Message will begin on June 9. Each Sunday at 11AM you are invited to join a discussion on the worship message in Room 109. These conversations are not a critique of the service, but a chance to reflect on how the message spoke to you, what challenged you or comforted you in your faith development journey.
Children & Youth
Coming this week, our annual Easter Egg Hunt. I still need more help to make this even happen. Please sign up
here and make it a successful and fun morning!
Next week will be our final discussion on pneumatology. As we approach the end of our RE year, are you interested in learning more about what we do in our RE classes? Would observing help you feel confident leading over the summer or next year? We are having an open house on
May 5th or 12th. Of course, parents are always welcome to observe their child's class, just let us know you are coming.
High School Save the Date: Overnight at Live Oak for members of our high school youth group, May 4-5, 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. the next morning. We will need rovers (four total) and some help with breakfast. A sign-up will be sent out to High School families in the next two weeks. Please step up to help out!
Summer RE Leaders sign-up is now available. Don't forget that youth are encouraged to sign up to help lead as well! See the poster in the Narthex, or sign up online at
Books and Cooks.
Remember that you can find the latest information about Faith Development programming on the
Learning pages of the Live Oak website or in the newsletter. Please keep yourself informed about what is happening!
