Cookie Walk - 15 days to go!

The Annual Cookie Walk will be Friday, December 6 from 4:30pm - 7:00pm and Saturday, December 7, from 8:00am - 11:00am. Each family (K-8) provides eight dozen cookies for this fundraiser. The work schedule for Work Groups 1 & 2 is attached. If you are unable to work your assigned shift, it is your responsibility to trade with someone from another shift or to find someone to replace you. Any changes need to be emailed to Rachelle Westra (rjwstr@aol.com).

  • Decorative trays will be available to use for FREE. They will be located in the hallway by the school office starting Monday, December 2.
  • Please label your items with a descriptive name (peanut butter bonbons, chocolate toffee bites, raspberry truffles, etc.).
  • Drop your cookies off at the Iowa State Bank basement on Friday, December 6, from 12:00-7:00 pm. Please bring your cookies as early as possible since we will be selling on Friday. Once people start lining up to purchase cookies, all families dropping off cookies must use the elevator to avoid congestion on the stairway.

Cookie Requirements
PICTURES of cookies from past years are on the website for ideas! Go to http://www.orangecitychristian.net/ and find the Monica link on the Parents page.

You can also look at the attached list for ideas: Cookie List .

Things to remember:
  • The Cookie should be worth approximately $.75 each (size & appearance).
  • Remember to make them festive!
  • Cookies that are always a hit are almond tarts, decorated sugar cookie cut-outs, bonbons & pecan tassies. Recipes for "Classic" Monica cookies are available in the school office.
  • Cookies should be fresh & not made ahead of time & frozen prior to the Cookie Walk.
  • Do not decorate cookies with gel because it smears onto other cookies.
  • Sugar cookies need to be neatly frosted & decorated.
  • Gingersnaps must be dipped or decorated…no plain ones.
  • Almond Tarts should have white frosting applied with a decorator tip. These sell best.
  • Bonbons, truffles, fudges and 'sticky items' (pecan chews) must be in liners (mini muffin liners).
