In the garden with the Hellebores
I know warm weather is coming and spring is just around the corner when my earliest spring flowers begin to bloom. Even when it is still cold, they brave the weather and proudly display their blooms.  The hellebores were first, then the daffodils and next the bluebells...there's so much more to come!

At the bottom of this newsletter, you will find the first lesson for Stellaris, our 2019 Block of the Month, or, more accurately, our "Technique" of the Month. Plus, there is news of next fall's Quilters' Quest, how to sign up to receive my blog and a look at a fascinating new book.

Stellaris
As the first lesson is released for Stellaris, kits are assembled and waiting! The kits come in five colorways using fabrics from the Aruba, Casablanca and Palette collections. A sixth colorway, Holiday, will be available in June when the new fabric arrives at the Studio.

In addition to the kits, this week we have put a selection of notions on sale which I found helpful in putting together the Stellaris quilt.  You can check them out on our Weekly Web Special page.

And in case you missed it or would like to take a second look, here is the video teaser which gives you a look at what to expect with our new Technique of the Month.

You can take a look at Stellaris here.
Quilters' Quest Shop Hop Coming This Fall!
It may still be months away but it is not too soon to start planning for our annual shop hop, Quilters' Quest.

Quilters' Quest will take place from Friday, October 11th through Sunday, October 20th.  This year, we are going on a "book tour." Dive into the pages of our favorite books and authors. Each shop will pick a book or author to feature during the Quest.

Each bus will travel to the 10 shops in a two-day period.

For more information on the color palette, Quest cuts, and the new shop on the Quest, visit the Quilters' Quest website.

Watch for more information on the color palette, Quest cuts, quilts and more in the coming months.
Sign Up to Receive My Blog Posts

In the past, many of you received each new blog entry by email. However, somewhere in cyberspace, there seems to have been a glitch and that stopped happening.  There is, though, an easy fix.  Simply go to the blog page on my website (listed in the drop down menu under "Jinny's Corner"), look to the right, and you will be able to subscribe.  Each time a new blog is published, you will, again, receive it by email.

In my blog, I focus on giving you instructional information, behind-the-scene peeks, and, on occasion, free patterns. If you haven't done so before, give it a look.

New Book - American Cotton: Farm to Quilt
This fascinating book tells the story of cotton in America from the farmer to the textile industry and the return to making quilting cotton in the USA plus the quilters who use these products.
Author  and quilter, Teresa Duryea Wong, focuses on quilts, including more than 80 pictures of antique and contemporary quilts. I was honored to be included in the book with the tale of my start as a fabric designer along with pictures of some of my quilts.

We carry autographed copies of Teresa's book and, if requested, I will also sign the chapter in which my story is told. Click here if you would like information on ordering American Cotton: Farm to Quilt.
Stellaris, 2019 BOM , Lesson #1

Based on your feedback from previous BOM quilts, you asked us to focus on techniques and to give you a more advanced but doable quilt. Stellaris is designed to do just that. This seemingly complex design is broken down into surprisingly easy-to-sew units with mostly straight seams and a few inset seams.

Each month you will be presented with new challenges and techniques. This month, we will focus on making and using templates.  Once you've mastered this, you will discover a wealth of quilt designs now available to you beyond those with simple rotary cut shapes.

This is a free program available just to our newsletter subscribers. Each newsletter will have a link to the new lesson with written and video instruction, plus you will have access to all past lessons.

Lesson #1 also includes general instructions, recommended supplies, fabric requirements, links to tips and video tutorials.
