Drop-Off & Pick-Up of Primary Belongings
Our teachers are currently working to pack up student belongings in the classrooms. Those items will be available to pick up on Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29. This will also be the opportunity for families to bring back to campus any technology items that were borrowed for distance learning and any library books that are still outstanding. The drop-off/pick-up process will run by car tag number and details about the process are linked  HERE

Update From TEA Regarding SNAP & School Meals
Please see below an update from TEA regarding the impact of COVID-19 on our learning community.

Math Summer E-Camps are Ready!
As an IB World school, Meridian's math track is intentionally accelerated. This will ensure that the majority of our students will complete Algebra II by the end of sophomore year and be on track to pursue the IB Diploma.

In order to be prepared for math in the 2020-21 school year, we recommend your student spend time improving skills this summer. These free, online suggestions can be found on Ms. Riley's website at wendyriley.weebly.com under the Meridian Summer E-Camps tab.

If you have questions or if issues arise with the links, please contact Ms. Riley. Happy Mathing!

Yearbook Distribution Delayed
Due to Balfour's printing press closure (due to COVID-19), delivery of this year's Meridian yearbook, THE WORLD , will take place over the summer. We will send information when a date is set with instructions for a safe "drive-thru" yearbook pickup.  Thank you!

Badgerdog Online Workshops
Just like our in-person summer camp workshops, our online workshops allow students to work closely with a professional writer as they explore the joys of the writing process. Our workshops are open to students entering grades 3-12 in the fall and are grouped according to grade level. Each online workshop will meet daily, Monday through Friday, for an hour and a half to read, write, and share together via Zoom. These workshops will be capped at 8 students per workshop. Students will also use Google Drive to upload their work and receive feedback from their teaching artist as they move through the editing and revision process.

Our three-week camps will explore a wide array of genres, including fiction, poetry, nonfiction, playwriting, and more. We are also offering one-week camps which will focus more closely on a specific genre or theme. There's a camp for everyone, whether you're interested in using writing to explore your emotions or love dystopian stories and want to try your hand at writing your own. We have camps for budding journalists and flash fiction fans alike.

Sincerely,
Shannon Haulotte
