The Marblehead Democrats Newsletter
Greetings!

A warm welcome! I am so pleased to be sharing with you this first issue of the Marblehead Dems Newsletter. Whether you are a Democrat or Independent, we share the belief that “healthcare is a right, diversity is a strength, the economy should work for everyone, and that facts and truth matter.” Today we are living in perilous times politically, socially, economically. And now, in the throes of a deadly pandemic even the way we communicate has changed. The world has gone “virtually digital.”

  • Our intent is to keep this newsletter “short and sweet.”
  • The 2020 election is coming up. It will require all hands on deck to flip the Senate BLUE and evict the current occupant of the White House.
  • We'll quickly update you on what we're doing to make it happen and hopefully make it easier for you to rev up your own political activity.

On a personal note, I am honored and excited to be serving as a delegate-at-large to the Democratic National Convention on August 17. So please stay tuned, stay well, and thanks for all you do!

What We're Up To
  • Making our voices heard on safe voting by lobbying & submitting written support for an important hearing at the State House.
  • Supporting Marblehead High School Dems. On June 10 they will be live-streaming on YouTube a virtual forum on the importance of civic engagement.
  • Awarding MDTC Edwin L Goldberg and Selma L Goldberg scholarships to three outstanding high school grads.
  • Planning a Congressional Forum in August featuring candidates for CD 6.
  • Organizing with the MA Biden Campaign Team.
  • Supporting MDTC members who are working on the Senate race for either Markey or Kennedy.
  • Organizing to flip the ME Senate seat.
  • Focusing on the June 16 Marblehead Town Elections to ensure that voters know the candidates and how to vote safely.
  • Phone banking for the recent Special Elections where we helped flip two red seats to blue. As we write this, we are also working hard to help flip 3rd Bristol MA House seat with Dem. Carol Doherty and hold the 37th Middlesex House seat with Danillo Sena, who would be the first Brazilian immigrant elected.
Action Ops for YOU!
Check out our events calendar ! Every day we update the calendar to include “action ops”...virtual town halls, webinars, candidate forums, phonebanking, letter/postcard writing to get out the vote, and a whole lot more. Choose what works for you!
