Spotlight on Girl Scout Juniors!
Troop 5607 - Lawrence, KS
A BRONZE Geocache! As part of their Bronze Award project, Junior Girl Scouts from Lawrence, KShosted sister troops 1599 & 7620 for a day of geocaching at Hidden Valley Camp. Troop 5607 taught the other girls about coordinates, GPS, and geocaches. Now that the instructions have been tested, all Girl Scouts will be able to geocache at Hidden Valley. How AWESOME! Way to go Troop 5607 and welcome to the Bronze Award sisterhood!!
Troop 1577 - Olathe, KS
We are so proud to have you now a part of the BRONZE AWARD sisterhood!! Girl Scout Juniors held an incredible experience for 39 of their Girl Scout Daisy sisters. They developed and executed a Be Prepared workshop where they led the Daisies through stations on calling 911 in an emergency, decorating their own mini first aid kit to take home, and identifying safe and unsafe outdoor actions. They also invited 2 female firefighters who are also leading our BRAND NEW Camp Fury/Catching Fury experiences to talk about an emergency family meeting place outside in case of a house fire. Girls got to try on firefighter gear too!
Troop 3159 - Lee's Summit, MO

Way to make a BIG DIFFERENCE Junior Girl Scouts! And what makes our HEART really smile is how you are supporting a sister Girl Scout. You ROCK! Let’s hear it for Girl Scout Troop 3159! These Girl Scouts collected 16 sets of pj’s in honor of another Girl Scout and her project titled, Jasmin’s Jammies. They even brought a special pair to give to their friend, Jasmin. Thank you girls for showing your love for Jasmin and Children’s Mercy!
Tell us about your girl! How is your Girl Scout taking the lead? We love our Girl Scouts in action with our programs, but we are not limited here. Is she taking the lead in school, in her place of worship or in another group activity? Share with us at prdept@gsksmo.org or use the social media icons below with #BecauseofGirlScouts.

Get Involved!
Leaders Day is Monday, April 22!
This coming Monday, April 22nd we celebrate a very special day, and we want your help in this celebration! It's Girl Scout Leaders' Day - a Day where we shout out amazing women & men who STAND UP FOR G.I.R.L.s!

In fact, the whole month of April is a time to celebrate volunteers. Volunteers make it all possible. Without these special individuals, there would be no adventure, travel, field trips, learning new skills or fun for our Girl Scouts.

Join your Girl Scout(s) and celebrate her troop leader or special volunteer on Monday or before the end of April.

It's such an important thing to do. Volunteers love a special written note, a photo album of fave photos throughout the year, an art project, a gift card to a restaurant or special place you know he / she would enjoy. A special gift from the heart means everything!

Here's a great idea that Girl Scouts across the country are doing, send a special e-card that shares just why a troop leader or other special GS volunteer is so special to your Girl Scout and family. Access the e-card option now.

Help us THANK and SHOUT OUT these SUPERHERO individuals!
