Children's Book Week is almost upon us!
This year is the 100th celebration of Children's Book Week, the nation's longest-running literacy initiative. The Children's Book Council and its charitable arm, Every Child a Reader, will host Book Week from April 29
to May 5.
Here is a printable poster and activities for book week. The 100th Anniversary theme is
Read Now ∙ Read Forever which looks to the past, present, and most important, the future of children's books!
I will be celebrating by Skyping with six schools from throughout the country, visiting two schools, speaking at my local
King Library's Friends of the Library on May 2nd, and attending the amazing
Hudson Children's Book festival. It's the largest children's book festival in the state of New York. I love getting the chance to meet tons of great readers and children's book authors. Happy Children's Book Week to you, Debbie
I had a nice surprise when I looked on the Simon and Schuster website: a new Mermaid TalesSea-tacular collection! It is the first ten books in a lovely set. Wouldn't it make a fun gift (maybe it's not too late for your Easter basket)? Hope your mermaid friends enjoy it!
YIKES! IT'S A BIG ONE!!
I'm celebrating my 60th birthday in May! I'd like to give away 60 books to 60 amazing children. Contact me here with their name and one amazing thing about them, a mailing address, and I'll send them an autographed book. I'm looking for more ways to celebrate, so if you have any ideas that will keep me from being depressed let me know! Thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday!
