Diversity
Life & Times @ Learning Tots Academy
View from the front

Dear LTA Families,

We hope that everyone has had a lovely holiday weekend with friends and family! As we move on from Multiculturalism and Diversity, we will move into our five senses. The five senses are: taste, sight, touch, smell, and hearing. Our senses allow us to learn, to protect ourselves, to enjoy our world. Can you imagine what it might be like to live your life without any of your senses? The senses usually work together to give us a clear picture of the things around us. If one sense is not working due to an accident or illness, then other senses will take over or become stronger to make up for the missing sense.

Let’s make this week amazing!!

Program notes
Spanish with Ms. Angélica
This week was a short week because of the Good Friday holiday but that didn’t stop all the fun and learning. This Easter week we did an egg hunt and had a lot of fun. We learnt two words Pascua (Easter) and Conejo (Bunny) in Spanish and sign language. Also we started learning the colors in sign language. We had two little ones who stood out this week. One in Spanish and the other in sign language. It’s a pleasure for me to teach these kids all that I know. I’m very proud of them because they are all very smart from the youngest to the oldest. I ask for your support at home to study the colores (colors), figuras (shapes), números (Numbers) and the Alfabeto (alphabet). We are still playing the games that come with prizes and they love it. These games are designed for them to practice their skills. Thank you parents for all your support and it’s an honor for me to be a part of your children’s education.
~ Sweetly, Ms. Angélica

Doctor tip of the week

The Vitamins and Minerals in Your Child’s Food

Help your kids get the important nutrients that’ll help them grow -- without taking a supplement. That's right, you can do it all with food.

Some vegetables are healthier for your child than others:
   a True
   b False

Parent tip of the week

Your Kid's Disgusting Habits

Of course your child has some gross habits -- all kids do. See which ones might be bad for their health, and how to ease kids out of them.

Childhood and boogers seem to go hand and hand. Scan any room full of kids, and there’s a good chance you’ll see at least one “digging for gold.” Even grosser? They often wipe the treasure they find on the nearest surface, or eat it.

Looking ahead
