A PRAYER FOR AUGUST
BY KATIE HIGGINS '99, VICE PRESIDENT OF MISSION
Come, Holy Spirit.
Fill us with the gifts most needed in our lives and world.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Remind us that Your ever-present love
is nearer to us than we can possibly imagine.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Help us to trust that You are actively at work
in the world and in our lives.
Amen.

CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2020!
On Saturday, July 25, the Class of 2020 and their families gathered both virtually and in person to celebrate Magnificat's 62nd Annual Commencement Ceremony. Board Chairperson Colleen Moran O'Neil '88 served as master of ceremonies and Dena Neville was the graduate chosen by her classmates to deliver the commencement address.
We are so proud of our graduates and can't wait to see where the next chapter of their lives will take them!

The Original 1955 Gym
Gets a New Look!
Thanks to the efforts of the Magnificat Fathers' Club and our Blue Streak Basketball coaches, a new shock-absorbing floor was installed in the Auxiliary Gym over the summer!
Originally constructed in 1955, the space also got a fresh coat of paint and new backboards and rims on the side baskets. Thank you to all who made these renovations possible!

SUMMER WORKSHOPS & PLANS FOR THE COMING YEAR
Over the summer, over 60 students returned to campus for summer workshops that gave them the opportunity to reconnect with each other and explore theater and television production, cooking, and metalwork. Thank you to our faculty and staff who made these workshops possible for our students. It was wonderful to have them back on campus again!
In July, Magnificat released the following two-part plan for the coming school year to our current students and families. These plans will be updated as school leadership continues to monitor COVID-19 statistics and guidance from state, local, and national officials.

PERFORMING ARTS UPDATE
Faced with the challenges that have come with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is no surprise that our Performing Arts Department is responding with their usual creativity! Magnificat's annual musical traditionally takes place in the fall. However, this year's production, Legally Blonde: The Musical, has been moved to April 14-18, 2021, with phases of rehearsal beginning in September to allow for social distancing. And, the department is creating a new project for the fall that will use film and live-streaming techniques to provide students with new opportunities to explore and deepen their production skills. Stay tuned for more!

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE MAGNIFICAT FUND &
THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY TUITION ASSISTANCE FUND!
Thank you for helping us break yet another record for The Magnificat Fund! Thanks to our students, alumnae, parents, faculty, staff, and friends, we raised over $390,000 throughout 2019-2020 to advance Magnificat’s Mission. And this year, your additional support enabled us to provide tuition assistance to over 110 families whose financial circumstances have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Your generosity year after year makes it possible for Magnificat to provide innovative academics, programming, and leadership development, all of which is grounded in the values and tradition of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary. Thank you for your ongoing support of our young women!
We educate young women holistically to learn, lead,
and serve in the spirit of Mary's Magnificat.
