Prayer:

We also join together in prayer this week for the people of East Timor (Timor Leste).
Let us join together in prayer for the people of Hong Kong. Harry Lucenay, longtime BWA supporter and current member of the BWA Commission on Human Rights Advocacy, served for almost 13 years as pastor of Kowloon International Baptist Church in Hong Kong and visited the area earlier this month. He writes: "Today, Kowloon International Baptist Church and the churches in Hong Kong, as well as many of the 7.4 million people of Hong Kong, are under siege. Roads are impassable. Food resources will soon be unavailable to most of the city. Beatings, burnings, and destruction of property lock people indoors. We traveled these streets last week. We conversed with people who voiced deep concerns about the future. We prayed with pastors who see the division in marriages, families, small groups, and their congregations. We know 'God is our refuge.' We continue to pray for the peace of Hong Kong."
Pray for members of the BWA Team this week as they attend and lead a breakout session at the Baptist General Convention of Texas Annual Meeting in Waco, Texas, USA.
A Prayer from the Philippines

Lord, make us realize that our Christianity is like a rice field:
when it is newly planted the paddies are prominent,
but as the plants take root and grow taller,
these divided paddies gradually vanish,
and soon there appears only one vast continuous field.
So give us roots that love,
and help us grow in Christian fellowship and service,
that your will be done in our lives, through our Saviour, your Son, Jesus Christ.
