WHO IS JESUS?

Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?" John 4:29, ESV

A huge billboard caught my eye the other day while driving down the freeway: It read:

Who is Muhammad? Come find out at the Muslim Center of Irving.

Did you know Muhammad isn't the only man we should be curious about today? After helping a woman draw water from a well, Jesus begins to tell her everything about her life. Astonished by what Jesus knew about her past and how he helped her in spite of him being a Jew and she a Samaritan, she went back to her village and asked the people to come see the man who might possibly be the long-awaited messiah. Curious about what she told them, they rushed to meet Jesus.

There are striking similarities between Muhammad and Jesus - both were great prophets, both were great teachers and both were supreme examples for their people. But there is also a striking difference, for the Bible declares that Jesus is the only man who died for the sins of the world (John 3:16). So although more opportunities are arising in our country to learn more about the prophet  Muhammad, the founder of the Muslim religion, may we never lose our curiosity about the man who is able to heal, save and deliver us from our sins. Who is he? Jesus Christ, the son of the living God!
