PTL Auction News
Have you been looking for ways to get involved in the upcoming 2019 Auction Dinner Dance Gala that benefits Immanuel? Our theme this year is “Education Opens Up a World of Pure Imagination.” First, each classroom is putting together a basket for silent auction and teachers/room parents have hopefully reached out to their students’ families with ideas of filling those. Secondly, there are a many additional silent auction items/baskets available that are put together from donations from the community. Who is the “community?” Stores, restaurants, services, other businesses, or even you. But we need folks to go into these locations and ask for donations! Since Immanuel is a 501c(3) non-profit organization, any donation is tax-deductible. Many of you already shop/dine at these locations. Most businesses will need a copy of the auction letter for their paperwork—available in the school office—grab a few before you go. Once a donation is given, a donation form will need to be filled out for our paperwork—also available in the school office. Would you be willing to also ask for a donation for our organization? Please click this link and sign up for a place to visit and ask for donations: http://signup.com/go/HHXDxFM .

Lastly, we will also be looking for basket builders, day-of-the-event set-uppers, and night-of-the-event helpers. If you’re interested in any of these roles, please contact Bill McLane at wmclane@gmail.com or Rebecca Bello at nrbello@comcast.net .

Lastly lastly, paper invitations will be mailed home within the next few days. Please come—invite your friends & neighbors! It’s a great evening out where you can dress up & enjoy dinner, dancing to a live band, and outbidding your friends on some amazing items. The online link for RSVP/Tickets is www.bidpal.net/ilcs .

ANGST MOVIE AT IMMANUEL
SUN., APR. 28, 6:30 PM IN THE GYM
IndieFlix , a leading independent online streaming platform, along with its non-profit arm, the IndieFlix Foundation , is sparking a global conversation about anxiety through screenings of its documentary, Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety . Batavia Public Schools hosted a screening of the film in January 2019. If you missed that screening or saw it and would like to see it again, on Sun., Apr. 28, Immanuel Lutheran Church and School will hold a special screening of the documentary at their campus at 950 Hart Rd., Batavia to open a dialogue among local families, community leaders, and experts.

The event will feature a viewing of the 56-minute film followed by information and resources. Space is limited, so free tickets will be required. Visit immanuelbatavia.org/angst_movie today
"We felt it was important to make a movie that could raise awareness to open up the conversation and provide hope," said Andreen, IndieFlix CEO and Angst Producer. "So many people struggle with anxiety and have trouble talking about it. We want to change that."

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health challenge in the U.S., impacting 54 percent of females and 46 percent of males, with age seven being the median age of onset, according to the World Health Organization. While anxiety disorders are highly treatable, only one-third of those suffering receive treatment. Everyone involved in the development of Angst has a personal experience with anxiety—from the producers to the interviewees.

The IndieFlix original film is expected to reach more than three million people around the world, through 25,000 community and school screenings.
