June 2019: News, Events, and Opportunities for CASA Volunteers

Letter from CASA Executive Director Angela Rose

Dear CASA Volunteers:

I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying your summer.

With school being out of session, it's a good time of year to remind people that we will see a decline in reports of child abuse because teachers and other mandatory reporters are not seeing the children each day. This makes our work safeguarding children even more important. Feel free to pass this link on to family and friends. It talks about the importance of calling the hotline even if you aren't sure abuse is occurring.

June has been busy at CASA. In addition to attending the National CASA Conference, we benefited from the inaugural LO2 Music Fest, hosted more than 900 people at the 43rd Annual North Pole Foster Children's Festival, and swore in four new advocates at the courthouse. Click here to meet those advocates now!

We also hosted a 30th anniversary donor appreciation event this month. Our 30th anniversary volunteer appreciation event is in August. You can find more details about it below. We hope to see you there!

Thank you for all that you do and as always, never hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns!

Sincerely,
Angela

Volunteers needed to work at CASA front desk

Would you be interested in assisting with our front desk while Vondelle is on vacation?

The duties include greeting and routing walk-ins, answering the phone and routing calls, etc. There would always be someone available to assist you if you need help.

If interested, please email Deb at [email protected].

Take survey for your chance to win a $25 gift card!

We want to do our best to provide information, resources, teen events, and shopping times that are easy to access and convenient. Your responses will help ensure we impact as many kids and teens in foster care in El Paso and Teller Counties as possible.

We appreciate your participation and will have a drawing for a $25 gift card for those who complete the survey and provide their email address. The survey will be open through Wednesday, June 26th, and the winner of the drawing will be notified after the survey closes. Please contact Jill at [email protected] with any questions. Thank you!
