Worship: Sundays @ 8:15, 9:40, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Dear Friends,

Many of us sat in disbelief early this week as we watched a ferocious fire burn through Notre-Dame. When the fire was doused and yet as the ashes still smoldered, this photo was taken by Philippe Wojazer. Its powerful image of the cross shining above the burned rubble reminds us that new life rises out of death and resurrection emerges even out of our darkest moments.

As followers of Christ, this week we walk the journey with Jesus to the cross. It began with his humble entry into Jerusalem to the hosannas and cheers of the crowd. It continues tonight with the Seder in which we remember the Passover meal he shared with his disciples and how it became for them and for us the Last Supper, the sacramental means through which we experience his grace. Tomorrow, we will follow Jesus to the cross as we remember the depth of his passion with two Good Friday services: noon in the Trinity Chapel and 7pm in the Trinity Memorial Garden.

Sunday morning we'll begin again in the Memorial Garden. Rebekah Saveland, Director of Youth and Family Ministries, will offer the sermon, followed by the celebration of baptisms. Anyone who desires to claim the new life that Christ has to offer and put their trust in his grace is invited to be baptized on this very special morning. Finally, we'll celebrate the resurrection with three services in the Worship Center at 8:15, 9:40 and 11:00.

Easter is a particularly powerful time to invite someone to come to worship with you. Even those who might not be receptive to an invitation on a typical Sunday, are sometimes open to try it out, especially on a day like Easter. Take a moment today and make the time to call a friend or neighbor or coworker - someone who might need to know the power of the resurrection - and invite them to worship and maybe even lunch afterwards.

There is someone out there who needs you to invite them to come and experience a God who will call us by name, who brings life out of death, hope out of despair, and resurrection out of even the darkest moments. And as we raise our Easter voices, as we hear the word of God shared, and as we taste the goodness and grace of Christ at the table, who knows what God might do. I'll look forward to meeting your friends and guests on Sunday as we celebrate the resurrection!

Grace and Peace,
Catherine
