Schedule Update - Sophomores will now attend on Sept. 2nd!
The school year calendar has been adjusted to allow incoming Sophomores to attend on Thursday, September 2nd. We recognize that some Sophomores may not have been in West High School yet due to the pandemic, and want to give ample opportunities for them to become comfortable with the building and school routines. Tours will be provided on this day as well as a chance to go through students’ class schedule and a Clubs/Activities fair. More details will be shared closer to the date!
Madison Promise Virtual Academy deadline extended!
Madison Promise, MMSD’s virtual program for secondary students, is extending the application window until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Please visit the Madison Promise website to review the course offerings, application information, and FAQs. Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed or accepted. In order to have a complete application, students must fill out the entire form including the essay questions. Finally, please ensure you have completed the MMSD Enrollment process as this is required for Madison Promise.
Work in MMSD - Possibly at West!
MMSD is hosting a Teacher Career Fair on Thursday, August 19th at 4:00pm. Click here to see more info and register for the event!
In the coming school year, we will be hiring three Special Education Assistants to our staff here at West High School. Click here to see more details and to apply!

We also have a new opening for a bilingual resource teacher in English Language Arts. You can find more information here.
Enrollment/Registration
Reminder that online enrollment for the 21-22 school year is now open! Families completing the application for students continuing within the MMSD will complete the enrollment process fully online and will be asked to schedule an appointment with their school only if they need to verify date of birth and/or parent-student relationship.

If you have any questions, please visit the MMSD enrollment site for more details and to begin enrollment. If you are a new student to MMSD and plan to enroll at West, please call Felissia Jackson in the West counseling office at 204-3073.
Textbook Return Reminder
If you have any textbooks that you did not return in the spring, please plan to bring them with you on your first day of school and return them to teachers of the appropriate department (for example, return your math book from last year to your current math teacher). Our teachers are still missing a lot of books and we need them returned so we can hand them out to this year’s classes!
