Social Issues | November 2018
Every Woman's Place for Support, Connections and Community.

Join us for a discussion on Sex Work in Calgary and Canada. We will be joined by Katelyn Dickin,  Shift Calgary  Educator and Capacity Coordinator, with HIV Community Link to talk about the challenges faced by women involved in sex work along with the laws regarding sex work in Canada and other parts of the world. This workshop will approach the topic from a human rights and harm reduction perspective.

Shift has a harm reduction and rights based approach and recognizes that, while not everyone involved in sex work has active choice, sex work is a choice for many in the industry. Shift supports women in the decisions they make about their career in the sex work industry.

RSVP here for Wednesday December 5th, 6-8pm.

Peer support is based on relationships between people who have a lived experience in common; where each person is considered equal and where empathetic understanding and experiential learning is shared in a  non-judgmental and supportive  manner. The conversation will identify ways that peer support can be used to reduce poverty.
