With the Crunch claiming the North Division Championship, the best-of-five series will begin at the War Memorial Arena this Friday and Saturday night before heading to Cleveland to play games three and four (if needed). In the event the series is tied at that point, it will return to the War Memorial for Game Five.

The Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council (SMTC) is currently conducting a study involving the state of walking, driving, and parking in Armory Square, one of Downtown's most popular districts. The public is invited to discuss options for Walton, Clinton, and Jefferson Streets and provide feedback next Thursday, April 25 at the City Hall Commons Atrium (map). 

SMTC staff will begin the presentation at 5:45 pm, and there will be exhibits and design ideas available to review beforehand. The study is being guided by an advisory committee with representation from the City of Syracuse, the Downtown Committee, and the Syracuse-Onondaga County Planning Agency.

WedWalk2019 Wednesday Walk Schedule Announced

The first Wednesday Walk of the 2019 season steps off in a little more than one month! Wednesday Walk is a guided walking tour program where participants can learn more about Downtown's amenities, art, history and much more!

All walks step off from Clinton Square at 12:00 pm or 5:30 pm.

PosterSyracuse Poster Project Unveiling
Get the first look at 18 new posters to be displayed throughout Downtown
TONIGHT, April 18, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Each year, writers from throughout the community submit haiku about Downtown Syracuse, the city or the nearby countryside. Artists then create posters based on the haiku of their choice. The Poster Project selects the top posters and displays them along Salina and Warren streets every April.

Tonight, the Syracuse Poster Project will unveil the 18 selected posters at the City Hall Commons Atrium (map), beginning at 6:00 pm. Come browse the posters, meet the artists and reflect on the artwork and poetry. The event is free and open to the public.

Have you ever wondered how the 335 purple petunia baskets installed throughout Downtown Syracuse bloom all summer long? Well, if you know someone looking for summer employment, this might be your chance to get the inside scoop!

The Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc. is looking to hire three individuals for summer employment. Their primary responsibility will be watering the hanging flower baskets and other planted areas throughout Downtown Syracuse. Waterers work 35 hours/week, must have a valid driver's license and be able to sit, stand and lift (a watering wand) for extended periods.

ArtWindowsLast Call: Grants Available for Artists to Create Window Installations Throughout Downtown Syracuse
Application deadline: Monday, April 22 at 4:00 pm

There are just a few days remaining to apply to participate in a program to activate urban spaces in exciting ways! 
The Downtown Committee of Syracuse and CNY Arts are still accepting proposals through Monday, April 22, for the  Art in the Windows  program, which seeks to activate urban spaces through temporary installations of art in storefronts.

Eligible applicants include individual artists, groups or collectives, and/or nonprofit organizations located in Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga or Oswego Counties. Awards will range from $500 to $3,000, depending on the scale, scope and location of the installation.

If you look closely, you'll notice the much-anticipated speakeasy, The Fitz, is now open in the basement of the Whitney Lofts building! The Prohibition-era speakeasy-themed bar features soft lighting, tin ceilings and live 1920s music played on a baby grand piano, plus live quartets on the weekend. The Fitz is open from 4:30 pm to midnight Tuesday through Thursday, and from 4:30 pm to 2:00 am on Friday and Saturday. The bar is closed Sunday and Monday.

The Brine Well Eatery's  farm-to-table   plate cuisines are officially here! Starting Saturday, customers may bite into a variety of unique, gourmet specialty plates, all sourced from local ingredients.

All plates can be made vegetarian or vegan using plant-based "meat" ingredients.  The cost for each plate averages between $10 to $15. 

The Brine Well Eatery will be unique in that all packaging in the restaurant will be compostable, with plans to launch a zero-waste reusable takeout system!

The Brine Well Eatery will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.
