Friendship Center will be CLOSED on Saturday, April 20  in observance of Easter.

Westland Library will be CLOSED on Sunday, April 21 in observance of Easter.

Earth Day is Monday, April 22 - The theme for 2019 is "Protect Our Species." To find out what you can do on Earth Day, and every day, to protect our planet, please visit www.earthday.org

The 2nd Annual Step into Spring 5K registration -  on  Monday, April 22 at 10:00 am at the Friendship Center, located at 1119 N. Newburgh Road. Have you ever wanted to participate in a 5K and didn't think you could? Learn the proper walking techniques to help you achieve your goal. Walk with others in this 8 week program that will conclude with a 5K walk starting and finishing at The Friendship Center. Meet every Monday from April 29 - June 3 to train. The walk will take place on June 10 at 10:00 am. The cost is $15 which includes a commemorative t-shirt, water and light lunch.

Youth Assistance Advisory Council 
  • The Youth Assistance Advisory Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 24 at 5:30 pm at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Road. To see the meeting agenda click here.
Downtown Development Authority Meeting
  • The DDA will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, April 25 at 8:00 am at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Road. To see the meeting agenda click here.
Friday Night Movie at Westland Library - join us on Friday, April 26 at 6:15 pm at the William P. Faust Public Library of Westland in Meeting Rooms A and B for Escape Room. Snacks/refreshments are provided (donations accepted and appreciated). This movie is rated PG-13. Please visit the library website, www.westland.lib.mi.us for a complete list of programming.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at Westland Police Station - on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. This is a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. The Westland Police Station is located at 36701 Ford Road.

William P. Faust Public Library of Westland presents the History of Eloise - on Saturday, April 27 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in  Meeting Rooms A and B. Back by popular demand is l ocal historian Jo Johnson to conduct a presentation on the former hospital of Eloise regarding its buildings and grounds. Her co-presenter, Marlene McGee will recount the living conditions during the time the hospital was active in Westland. Registration is now open.
