Easter Worship Services
Campbell UCC will host an Easter sunrise service on April 21st at 6 am, followed by a simple breakfast. Our main Easter service will be at the usual time of 10 am. Join us in celebration of resurrection joy!!

As has been our tradition on Easter Sunday here at Campbell UCC, we invite everyone to bring flowers and greenery to add to a special cross that will be placed on the altar. Please plan to come a little early with your flowers, so they can be placed before the service starts.
Earth Justice Sunday, April 28

Earth Day falls this year on Monday, April 22nd, so we will celebrate an Earth Justice Sunday on April 28th. While we will touch on the ways our beloved planet is suffering, we will also lift up the many ways  people around the world are supporting the earth's healing too. Our overarching theme will be water, and we are planning to bring some playful elements to our worship as well. This will be a shortened service to accommodate our meeting with Dr. Villanueva after worship.
Bible Study
Our Easter season Bible Study series continues on Wednesday, April 24th, at 6pm in the Fireside Room. We begin with a short video related to chapter 4 of Amy Jill Levine's "Entering the Passion of Jesus: A Beginner's Guide to Holy Week. Followed by discussion of the video and chapter content. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Social Justice Small Group
Our next Social Justice Small Group meeting will be on Sunday, May 19th, from 7 to 8:30 pm, in the Fireside Room. During our April meeting the group chose two areas of focus to explore further: 1) Transgender and LGBTQIA human rights; and 2) expanding services to our houseless and food insecure Food Pantry patrons. At our next meeting we will discuss possible educational events to help us better understand and support our Transgender community. Feel free to bring a dessert to share during our meeting. All are welcome.
LENT

Note from Pastor Naomi:
As Easter approaches, I share with you one of my favorite poems encouraging us to "practice resurrection," live fully and with joy by the Kentucky Poet, Wendell Berry. Wishing you all a peaceful and growth-ful Easter! Enjoy!

Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front
By Wendell Berry

Expect the end of the world. Laugh.
Laughter is immeasurable. Be joyful
though you have considered all the facts.
So long as women do not go cheap
for power, please women more than men.
Ask yourself: Will this satisfy
a woman satisfied to bear a child?
Will this disturb the sleep
of a woman near to giving birth?
Go with your love to the fields.
Lie easy in the shade. Rest your head
in her lap. Swear allegiance
to what is nighest your thoughts.
As soon as the generals and the politicos
can predict the motions of your mind,
lose it. Leave it as a sign
to mark the false trail, the way
you didn't go. Be like the fox
who makes more tracks than necessary,
some in the wrong direction.
Practice resurrection.
Lighted Window Presents Karaoke Night!
Note from Pastor Naomi
Please join us for a fun night of Performance Karaoke on Saturday, April 27th from 7pm-11pm.  It is time for you to shine and have some fun performing your favorite song with like minded people who love and support you. This is a free event. Feel free to donate if you wish, but donations are not required. Snacks, drinks and desserts will be available and donations are gratefully received.

SURJ Book Club
Note from Pastor Naomi
The next SURJ (Showing Up For Racial Justice) Book Club gathering will take place Sunday May 15th at Noon. The first hour is devoted to silent reading and the second hour to discussion and ideas for action.  During the last meeting they reached page 24, but don't let that deter you;  feel free to join in at anytime.

The book club is reading "The End Of Policing" by Alex Vitale.

The meeting will take place upstairs at Pier 402 which is at 238 Race Street in San Jose.   Peter Parris, Lighted Window Presents actor and Old Orchard School History Teacher is the moderator for each session.
Coffee with a Muslim
Note from Pastor Naomi
We are invited to a casual open discussion with our Muslim Neighbours at the Bascom Community Center on Saturday, April 27th from 2:30 to 5:00pm.  This is a great opportunity to learn and ask questions about Islamic beliefs and traditions. For more information and to register  LINK
