Township Welcomes Interim CAO Garth Johns

Mr. Garth Johns has been appointed by Council as Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective April 8, 2019.

Mr. Johns is a highly respected senior leader, manager, consultant and author. He is also a much sought after presenter and speaker on topics relating to leadership, management and human resources. Mr. Johns is familiar with the Township of Brock and Region of Durham as he previously worked as the Commissioner of Human Resources for the Region of Durham.

As Interim CAO, Mr. Johns will help ensure the Township's commitment to excellent service delivery continues and lead the recruitment search for a permanent CAO.

Mr. Johns will also be working with Mr. Garry Cubitt, former Region of Durham's CAO for 25 years, who will consult Council as it develops a new strategic plan.

I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to all of the good folks of Brock Township.  Because I am serving as Interim CAO, my time with you will be limited.  However, included within my role as Interim CAO, Council has asked my colleague, Garry Cubitt and myself to review all aspects of the operations of the Township of Brock.  To that end, a survey will soon be available online that we ask people to fill out so we can gather as much information as possible from taxpayers so we can include that feedback in our ultimate report to Council.  I will also try to be out in the community as much as possible so if you see me out and about, please don't hesitate to stop me and say hello.  In the meantime, stay well.  Summer will soon be here.

Mr. Johns can be reached by email at  [email protected] or by phone at 705-432-2355 ext. 239
